I've read thru a few posts that are somewhat related, but I couldn't find a clear answer.
Am I able to have custom genre colors in the web app?
If so, how?

Unfortunately no, not really. It can only do it's standard set of colors, or no genre coloring.

You can kind of tweak the colors by editing genre.css.

For a list of what each of the numbers are, you also need to look in the genre-mapping.xml file. The numbers match the 'type' values here.

The long version of this follows.  When sub looked into genre colouring instead of no colours I suggested doing it like Kodi does.  The skin has a png for each genre type  https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/tree/master...epg-genres These numeric values are the numbers based on the DVB genre standard.

The genre-mapping.xml file adds mapping for all the Schedules Direct genres that I had in my database at time to approximate DVB genres.  I am sure more genres have been added since then and I probably made some errors but I think the idea is more about some colour vs none.  The colours in NextPVR are quite different from Kodi since they are background colours vs foreground and sub choose subtle colours to match his dark theme.

If you want to play with the colours  this online tool can help https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs...icker_tool.  Place the hex value from "program_folder"/wwwdata/genre.css in the box which will keep the colour in the same family.  As an example the colour for sports would be in .gc_64  #342426  in genre.css.  (the 64 is type)  Put #342426 in the box and move the circle around a little to get a really bright colour for a test  This image is with #DD3044

It's a browser so remember to ctrl-f5 to see your changes.  Also background colours do look a little different on all browsers, that's just how it goes.

If you find a genre.css you like remember to save your genre.css as it will get overwritten on updates.
