Around 20:47 my wife was skipping ahead watching playback in knewc on the server PC of the Sunday Night NFL game which was still recording, and the server crashed.

Kodi and NextPVR logs attached.

This has actually happened a few times over the past several days, but the first time I caught the logs right away.

Thanks,
-Brad

You might want to look at linux logs like dmesg and journaltctl

Also was there a kodi stacktrace dump with the logs? From kodi all I can see is you trying to play that bad NFL game from earlier.

Those were the only two .log files in ~/.kodi/temp - is there another spot to look for kodi logs?

dmesg shows dotnet GPF about 7.5 hours after finishing reboot after earlier server crash this afternoon, which I think was around 13:15 so that would appear to coincide (or at least close) with 20:47 issue:

Code:
[   20.697905] saa7164 driver loaded

Some nasty looking stuff in journalctl @ 20:47 also.  I sent the journal entries from the current boot (~13:15 today) to the attached log file (too big to post).

Unfortunately not much help there, the crash is in the graphics interface and UI client uses that heavily but it doesn't explain if it is a NextPVR bug or a driver bug causing the issue. Whatever it is, it is not knewc.

I was playing with knewc today and I had this crash too

Code:
Dec 03 12:09:15 lenovo kernel: dotnet[32252]: segfault at b0 ip 00007fb15a0578d5 sp 00007fb11d569de8 error 4 in libgdiplus.so.0.0.0[7fb15a044000+64000]
Dec 03 12:09:15 lenovo kernel: Code: 02 00 00 00 c3 48 8b 06 ff 60 08 66 2e 0f 1f 84 00 00 00 00 00 48 85 f6 0f 94 c1 48 85
Dec 03 12:09:15 lenovo systemd[1]: nextpvr-server.service: Main process exited, code=killed, status=11/SEGV
Dec 03 12:09:15 lenovo systemd[1]: nextpvr-server.service: Failed with result 'signal'.

Something it seems that something sub is doing in UI client mode is not valid. It seems to be related to a /control?media= command which never returns but that is the most I can see.

Thanks Martin, glad I'm not the only one having issues with this. The server has crashed on us a couple times in the last week. Most of the time I can restart the service from the terminal, occasionally I need to reboot the PC. We'll see if Sub can find anything. Let me know if there is anything I can test or otherwise do to assist.

I don't know if it's related or not, but knewc running locally on the server crashes (or drops out to Kodi?) almost every day, and lately, sometimes Kodi crashes with it.

More info on the server crashes.  This is still happening with the new DLLs from sub on 12-31-2020.

Server logs attached.  This happened ~18:45 on 1/16/2020 when my wife tried to delete an NFL football game recording from within the Video Library on the local Kodi-knewc client
