No Listings in Guide

Hello,

   Just installed Hauppauge software for 950Q usb tuner. Installed NextPVR by running downloaded app. 
Before installing NPVR, WinTV 8.5 was working, and still is.
   Ran NPVR and did channel scan successfully, however, when I open the web app, 
everything seems to be working but there are no listings in the Guide.
   Is there anything I'm missing? The web video suggests opening thhe download and moving to a folder and manually running 
the server followed by a bat file to install the server. I just ran the executable.
   One forum poster stated creating a root folder, "temp" solved the problem. I have a folder "Temp." Will that work?
I'm running Windows 10 Pro x64.

It looks like NextPVR was still scanning channels when you tried to update the EPG. Try again when everything is finished.

BTW you don't need to scan all frequencies 2-36 is fine.

The ATSC EPG data may or may not be that good, it varies by location and channel.

I opened the guide and selected the current time and a channel. The app attempted to open a device, which never happened. Eventually, "Transcoder failed!" error occurred.
I assumed the tuner was to be closed during all this. I tried to open the tuner but the NPVR and tuner seem to be mutually exclusive, one or the other, but not both.

I checked my data and I have a version from 2021. I may uninstall the current version and try that one.

NextPVR doesn't always release the tuner no.

No need to uninstall just run the install and check that you don't have a file called NPVR.zip in your download folder.

About the channel range in updates, I had no choice in the range.

I checked located older versions from 2020 and earlier. I may try one of thhose.

Send the zipped logs and we can have a look. If you don't have 2-36 you didn't delete NPVR.zip so it probably didn't update.

I re-installed and noticed the "Yoou have new channels" popup. You are right. This time, I caught the popup and updated.
The listings are filled.

Just tried to watch local news.
"Server is not fast enough for playback in a web browser. (0.288x)"
The playback is choppy. Intermittent brief stops
Any suggestions to speed up the server?
No problems with the WinTV app.

You can try enabling another Video Encoder on the Settings Transcoder tab but that is a really slow server and you would be better off using a direct play client. Also for recordings you might want to disable thumbnail generation.

Better option faster PC, yours must be really old.

Yeah, I have two laptops and the one in question is a 2008 Lenovo Thinkpad T61 Core 2 Duo.
Plus I have a lot of ggarbage running in the background. Microsoft's Antimalware service is a real speed killer, I'll check that too.
I may still try an older version. Presumably, the software is simpler and therefore faster.
I have an Asus x510UAR that will handle the speed, but I probably need to get another laptop.

Note: I just tried again, and interruption was minimal. Oddly, I was running the WinTV app simultaneously.
If all else fails, I'll run the WinTV app, as well with the sound turned down.
