Better Error Msgs

In some part for the user, but as much for you, sub. It would take some extra coding to apply specific error msgs (where possible), but I think you'd cut back on some questions, and allow more experienced uses to help them in the forum.

I perfect example is the error you get when trying to watch TV while recording (and not knowing it). If the msg said "Recoding in progress", instead of what it says now, none of those people would bring the error here.

I'd have to toss my vote in for this one. The wife and kids keep asking me what "no capture source available" means.

It's also not very elegant in the way it handles starting a recording, while you're watching live tv (at least on the MVP). Live TV just ends up "skipping" on the last few frames. It would be nice to see the playback stop, with a message saying it was stopped due to a pending recording.

Just minor usability issues, nothing major.

from a programmer side, the error messages are very good. for a end user side, yeah they could be better. so yeah i would to like to see this (of course you will still have the odd "object not set to an instance of an object" and "index out of bound" exception, but over time they will reduce).

Actual errors I don't mind, since they usually only happen when tinkering.

But I think operational errors should be more user friendly. Mainly the 2 I pointed out are the only ones I commonly see during normal operation.

yeah i meant you;d still get the ocassionally error msg "object not set..." which doesnt mean that much to most users (but the main error messages could be improved).
