Recording ability lost for certain series

History: I've been recording the Gunsmoke series for about a year now. But suddenly last week the xmltv data from zap2it got messed up. I get OTA, and Gunsmoke is broadcast on channel 51.1 at 12pm daily. The series then stopped recording because 51.1 was suddenly the same programming of 51.2. I could watch Gunsmoke at the right time on 51.1 on my TV set, but it wasn't being recorded on my computer which has the Hauppage tuner. Then at the last download of the zap2it data yesterday, I can see that the EPG is still wrong until Fri, but Sat it is fixed. Now the problem:
1. It doesn't appear to be able to set up recording for the Gunsmoke series. It still indicates recording for just about anything else, just not that one.
2. I tried exiting the guide, restarting the service, and reopening the guide, but no progress. Symptom was "cancel series" and the bar was not red.
3. I was able to get "record series" button by doing "cancel series" and restarting. I then did "record series," but there is no indication anywhere that the series will be recorded.
4. It's now back to "cancel series", but the bar is still not red, and there is no indication of record pending.

In the screenshots attached, I'm looking for any indication that Gunsmoke will be recorded (none).
I'm at a loss of what to do, but I certainly don't want to reinstall the software. Does anyone have an easier suggestion for me on how to fix this problem?

It's because you picked a future date to schedule the recurring recording so recordings before the 7th won't record

Pick today's episode and try again. Next week you have a conflict at those times too so some but not all were scheduled.

I don't get it. If I want to record something, it has to be in the future. Are you misunderstanding my issue? Here is the last thing I did after I reset everything:
1. Click on Gunsmoke on any day Sat. or next week
2. The "record series" red button was active, so I click on it, and it disappeared, but nothing else happened.
3. I click on the Gunsmoke field again, and there is no red "record..." button, but instead I have grey "cancel" buttons.

This tells me that something has recognized a recording, but it is not getting into the schedule where the "schedule" and "recordings" screens indicate it.
Also, I cannot pick today's episode, because it doesn't exist until Sat. on the right channel.
I don't know what you mean by having a conflict next week on those times too. Are you trying to tell me that if I click on "record series" that it won't record any of them if there is any conflict of times? I've not had any problem with this in the past. Besides, there is nothing else scheduled for that time of day in any of the days to the end of the EPG.
I'm still lost.

A few things to be aware of:

- if you create a recurring recording from a show that is currently part way through, it doesn't schedule that episode. Instead, it's looking for (future) complete episodes it can record.

- if you do a recurring recording for show, it won't schedule recordings of episodes it either already has scheduled or recorded or deleted recently (we can tell if this is the case when you do 'update epg' and post the logs).

- when it's scheduling recurring recordings, it works its way down the list of recurring recordings, effectively treating it as a priority order. If earlier recurring recordings tie up a tuner in that slot, then it may not be able to schedule the recording. again, we can tell if this is the case form the logs.

Also always happy to look at your npvr.db3 if you think there is a situation like this in your current data - with your database I'll be able to check why.

It's almost certainly one of the three things I mention above, but yeah it can be hard to tell the reason at times.

Perhaps you need to empty and remerge some channels or make sure your tuners are enabled on the setting screen.

You are also running unsupported 6.1.4 there were definitely issues with it and you should have upgraded to 6.1.5 I'd wait for v7 until 7.0.1. comes out.

I forgot to tell you that I tried to purge data this way (but still have the problem):
1. empty EPG
2. update EPG
3. exit guide
4. restart service
5. open guide
problem still exists

I didn't delete the xmltv file and restore, because I didn't think the problem originates there, since it updates ok. Everything works except that one series I want to record. I tried canceling the series several times and then it came back "record series". I then did record series, but still see the problem. Perhaps there is some certain process to fix this? But I'm still puzzled.
