Download of 7.0.0.241229 not completing

I've tried several times to download the latest v7.0.1.241229 using the correct setup program and the download gets to almost the end and then fails, with the message "AN EXCEPTION OCCURRED DURING A WEB CLIENT REQUEST". I've tried two different PCs, albeit on the same internet connection but I can however download similarly large files in a browser without a problem. I'm just wondering if there might be a problem with the installer for the latest version? Thank you.

The installer didn't change for 7.0.1 so the issue won't be the installer unless you have an even older installer If you have a folder c:\temp zip the file install.txt from it and upload it. If you don't have the c:\temp folder create it and try the install again and upload the file.

I don't appear to have a C:\temp folder so I can't upload install.txt  I'm afraid.

I have now tried downloading the nextpvr.zip file directly per previous posts. Unzipped it to C:\program files\nextpvr folder and the ran installservice.bat. This seemed to work, bringing up the web interface and I could add channels to my tuners, no problem. However, the program guide is empty after updating. Also Tray icon service wasn't installed, so I ran this from the installation folder. Made no difference. So, I guess NextPVR can't be installed this way, at least not on a fresh installation of Win11.

So I'm wondering If I could get detailed instructions on how to install and activate everything properly from the zip file? (downloaded directly from httsps://nextpvr.com/stable/win64/NPVR.zip). Many thanks.

I tried again using NPVRsetup.exe and the download still throws up the 'web client exception' error. I can accept that it's maybe my internet connection (but not the PC because I can't update an existing installation on a different Win11 PC).

As I said you should have create C:\Temp and tried again so you would have had the file.

I can't guarantee that the installer will install NPVRTRay.exe though, based on other posts, otherwise the manual install should be the same as the web download.

Not getting the program guide is probably unrelated and would need the zipped logs.

The installer was last updated in 2022, so it's not related to updated installer.

You can manually download https://nextpvr.com/stable/win64/NPVR.zip, and put the zip file in the same directory as the NPVRSetup.exe, and it'll use that version instead of downloading it. You'll need to remember to remove the zip file later, or it'll install that same version again next time when you go to upgrade.

Many thanks for your helpful replies. Sub's post enabled me to solve my problem. I had unzipped the zip file to the install folder and then ran SetupNPVR, which didn't work. After your post I realised that I should not have unzipped. When I ran the installer with zip file unzipped, all worked as usual, including the programme guide. I'm up and running with the latest version - thanks again!
