Hello,
I purchased the above with the intention of watching and recording freeview programmes on my PC. I managed to download the installation software and drivers ok, but when it comes to scanning for channels, nothing happens. I have the August HD TV stick in one of my PC slots and the small aerial supplied with the stick is plugged in as well. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

We need the zipped logs from the Settings->General page to help you.

I have one of these as well. The tiny little aerial supplied is rubbish. You'll need to connect it to an external one

I take it that the aerial supplied is not strong enough. Had I known this I would not have purchased it. I just want to watch and record freeview television on my computer wirelessly.

We need that zipped logs downloaded from the settings page. We can check signal levels there.

I certainly wouldn't expect an antenna like that to work well TV inside a house or with any tuning device. Although this forum is not a h/w support forum, at least the company do point some issues out on their web site.

Code:
Please be advised that Freeview Reception is affected by various factors such as your proximity to a transmitter, tall buildings, thick walls, ceilings, weather etc. We advise that you connect the TV receiver to a rooftop aerial for the initial channel scan, after saving the channels you can then use the receiver in different locations to test the signal strength. To improve reception, a Portable Aerial with a signal booster may help.

Those supplied aerials only work if you can just about see the transmitter visually from your location.
They're not directional and cannot pickup much signal unless you're in an exceptionally strong signal area.
Basically, you'll need a much better aerial to get anything working with that tuner.

Even though Blackhill is a powerful transmitter (I'm guessing your in West Central Scotland) you'll be lucky to pick up anything with the supplied aerial you may even struggle with a proper indoor aerial.
.I'm in Fife about 10 miles the from Craigkelly transmitter and couldn't pick a up anything with the small aerial supplied with my Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD DVBT Tuner, I split a supply off of my rooftop aerial and now get all the Freeview channels.
