Is there a limit to the number of VOD categories that can be imported, because I cannot get all of them from my source to load?

for example (unless I've counted wrong) only 111 categories for VOD load and my source has more than that

Thanks

I think if your import from m3u it imports all of them. I think if you import from XC, it skips certain types.

Ok, that’s not it—I tried both methods, and the result is the same.

When I review the categories imported and compare them with the source entries in the M3U file (I used VS Code), it seems as though NextPVR is only processing entries that contain the string “movie” or “series” in the group name, rather than processing all entries. If you're going to categorize content as movies or series, I believe the routine should be using the endpoint name in the URL:

Example URL structure: http://<domain>/<endpoint>/<param>/<param>/<filename>.<ext>

The <endpoints> would be either:
  • movie
  • series

Until this is addressed, IPTV providers will need to ensure that the group name includes either movie or series for proper import.

Channels don't seem to have this issue because I assume there isn't any string-based filtering applied to their group names.

Cheers

Hmm, I dont think that is the case, at least with m3u import. What file extensions do these have? This can have impact on whether they're import as a VOD. Having a name with season/episode numbers can also have an impact.

I too am noticing the "Movies:" or "TV:" VOD groups listed, but are missing other groups that may not be in that category.  My entire set of "Series" VOD groups do not appear in this list for example or "uncategorized" , "One Friday Fights" , etc.  Is this a filter by design to sort VOD groups in the drop down?

They either have mkv or mp4 extension and metadata covers are jpg, and there is no trend there wrt what gets imported. The only trend is what I already stated. Can you please review the code?

I checked the log, but there’s not much useful info. It lists the VOD groups that were imported, but it gets cut off and doesn't even show all the ones that did import.

I looked at the entries in the M3U file for both the groups that worked and the ones that didn’t. There wasn’t any obvious pattern in the URL, group name, strings, or even the line numbers (forward or reverse).

So, I took the entries from the groups that didn’t import and made a test M3U file. When I tried to import it, the "add device" routine saw them, but the groups didn’t actually get added. I wiped the database and ran the same test again, and this time, they imported just fine.

I’ve changed my mind about what I said earlier—looks like the problem is actually a max value for VOD groups. I’m still not sure if it’s an import issue or a display issue, though.

M3U. I just tested clearing the database and re-importing from M3U and noticed a different set of VOD groups now listed but still not all, and some have the "Movies:" prefix and some appear as normal without it, none now appear for the TV groups where as before they were adding the "TV:" prefix and listing them.

I must confess I am running on a Linux platform and should probably start a new thread in the proper location but this was the only place I found someone else having a similar issue.
