Force streaming audio by language tag?

Is there any way to get NextPVR to only use audio streams with a language tag?

I am using NextPVR with Jellyfin and Jellyfin always seems to use the narration audio stream rather than the regular English one, even though I have use English as priority over the default stream.  This seems to be a well documented issue.  I was wondering could I get round it by forcing NextPVR to only provide the English tagged stream?

Not really NextPVR capture a complete transport stream for PVR clients to decode. Any time you see things like that it would be for NextPVR client playback.

I suppose since you are using SAT>IP you could manually edit the database and remove the PID's for the nar stream if you trust sites like KoS show the PIDs and adjust it after every rescan. Is it all channels or only the ones where the nar stream has a lower PID?

All channels don't have a narration stream, but it seems like the most popular/ main stream ones do.

Some have the Nar stream first in the list and some have the English stream first in the list. Some of the Eng streams are AC-3 and some are MPEG, it seems all the Nar streams are MPEG

My question was is the Jellyfin problem with the on on all channels or just when the nar channel is first again trusting KoS to get this right https://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php Trying to save you work.

I've noted the the Jellyfin PVR client needs work so there is a limit on what NextPVR can do to make the experience better. TVHeadend server is more flexible for filtering the transport stream but it won't be give perfect results.

Problem is I can't actually tell which stream is playing in Jellyfin, the only way I can tell is when I hear some narration which can be pretty sparce.

Just playing Law and Order on 5 USA which has the narration track listed first, been playing for about 5 minutes and not heard any narration.  I am Windows only so TVHeadend is not an option really

E4 Definitely has narration, whereas More 4 Does not seem to.

E4 blows my theory that the issue is Jellyfin picking the lowest numeric PID so I guess you'd have to remove them all from the database manually.

I have decided to use Kodi for my player rather than Jellyfin. I can use the Jellyfin for Kodi addon for my media library and the Kodi NextPVR addon for live TV, that works much better than Jellyfin live TV, you can select the audio track, have timeshift etc, plus Kodi plays just about everything. Jellyfin was a bit picky with some media files and would transcode them.

That combo seems to be the best for me. I am using reverse proxy for accessing Jellyfin, I could not get that to work with the NextPVR Kodi addon, so I am just port forwarding in my router and using a complex pin. It worked ok in a web browser (sometimes) but not in Kodi addon. Am I right in thinking something to do with HTTPS not working with the addon?

For Kodi two things are https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid547549 I don't make it a simple to toggle http/https in pvr.nextpvr because I would expect too many support posts. I figure setting up the cert, a web server/reverse proxy or starting NextPVR with the pem file needed for port forwarding https are so advanced that editing a text file would be relatively easy.
