Hi

Just came across this piece of software, looks very interesting.

As the title says, I have the hauppauge nova-t pci which all works fine under their software. Was trying to get this working with it but I can't figure out how to tune the channels. Whenever I do "Live TV", I get "Channel tuning information not known". I can't see anywhere to search for channels however.

I've been all over this website trying to find out how to do this to no avail. Went through the quick-start, so if there's some step other than that I should have followed?

In the config in the capture sources, I have set the BDA recording plugin to Hauppauge Nova-T (tried 909 and 9000). I also ran the tuning assistant, but there's nothing for the Nova in there. Can't see anything meaningful in the logs either...

This is probably something very simple, but I'm damned if I can find it. To top things off, I have a cracking hangover so I'm admitting defeat and asking for help Smile

Thanks in advance

Did you click the 'Map digital channel to epg channels' button in capture source setup?

Just got this working myself.

When setting up the capture source, you need to set up an EPG then click "Map digital channel to epg channels".

It should then scan through and find all the digital channels it can.

Depending on where you got your EPG data, some chanels might not match up, eg BBC1 doesn't match with BBC ONE, so you'll need to do that manually. Additionally (if you're in the UK) any chanel that doesn't broadcast at the time you try and map them (CBBC channel or BBC3 for example) won't show up and you'll have to untick any of the channels you haven't mapped.

Once that's mapped. you can click OK to exit the setup, re-load it then go to the channels tab and put in the preferred program numbers.

I think I must have missed out that step before - chalk that one up to the hangover.

However, now when the channel scanning window comes up, I instantly get a "debug assertion failed" error (atomcli.h, line 150).

Perhaps the mpgmux.ax I downloaded is old, I'll hunt for a newer one just now...

edit: version is 5.0.0.727

Config-exe-native.log shows this:

further edit: ok - I think I see my mistake. I have the standard hauppauge/TT drivers on, but I found in another post from this site that I need the BDA drivers. Doing that just now: http://www.technotrend.de/english/downlo...nload.html

Sorry, one last thing - will installing this BDA driver/software rule out using the old Hauppauge app? Reason I ask is I have my own custom digiguide marker that fires that application up and records through there. Yes, I know GB-PVR will do that, but I may want to keep the old system going too.

OK, channels are now mapping, the scan went through, most channels have matches in the mapping guide. Still when I do "Live TV", I get "Channel tuning information not known".

So near! What's up?

That implies you're trying to view a channel where you've not done this mapping. Try disabling all they channels that you havn't mapped.

That's it - many thanks. From a quick play about just now, it looks fantastic. Goodbye Hauppauge rubbish!

Will give it a good going over when I get home, but for the moment - congratulations on producing such an excellent piece of software Smile
