client playback

If I try to playback a recording in the client it blinks and does nothing.  If I try to watch live TTV it says waiting for awhile and then nothing/  I just installed version 7.0.3 after a computer crash. Before the crash it worked fine.  The recordings playback fine in the WEB app.

If you look at the recording on disk, is it a normal size or zero bytes long? Does the file play in another player like VLC?

Without a copy of the logs from when you tried playback it's impossible to identify the cause

Does it make any difference if you set the audio renderer back to system default?

Uninstalled WINTV in case there was a conflict.  It took it's decoders with it. Downloaded Klite codec pack .  Now using LAV decoders.  Now if I hit play, I see the timeline at the bottom of the screen counting but video is still the screen with close, play delete etc.

You may have installed the 64 bit LAV, NextPVR.exe is 32bit or didn't go into setting to install LAV for video. You don't need to install a codec pack the LAV home is here https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases

Software issues can sometimes be surprisingly difficult to diagnose because multiple settings may contribute to the same problem. It's great when community members share solutions that others can benefit from later. I spent a little time on Chicken RD recently before returning to compare troubleshooting suggestions.
