Hi,
I recently upgraded my ageing media server to a Raspberry Pi 5 running Libreelec 12.2.1
I have a Triax TSS400 SAT>IP server which I thought I might be able to us, but it does not show up under the 'Devices' section of the web app.

It appears to be found as seen in the logs, but it does not indicate that it is a 4 channel DVBS2 4 receiver device.

I have had this device running under TVHeadend but found that I to specifically tell TVHeadend that it was a DVBS2-4 device.

I have included a status screen from the Triax showing it receiving TVNZ 1, as well as a specification document all included in the logs archive.

I would be really grateful if you can suggest how I might proceed to get it to work with NextPVR?
Please let me know if you need me to provide any further information.

Kind regards and thanks in advance, Stephen

Does your device have a different xml description file then UPnP discovered http://192.168.1.19:50000/7f764937-d0d7-...9652ba.xml that might indicate the capabilities better?

That url is where the device publishes its capabilities, but it looks like it's missing the bit that says it's DVB-S2 and has 4 tuners.

Yes I saw tjat non-standard xml but I read this TVHeadend thread https://tvheadend.org/d/5060-triax-tss40...ts-on-this and thought maybe it also serves http://192.168.1.19/rootDescr or something similar.

I haven't been able to find an url that provides the capabilities of the TSS400 Mk 1 apart from that in the NextPVR log file.
TVHeadend allows one to specifies these manually which sort of solves the problem.

I'm including a pdf of the TVHeadend setup screen and an extract from the TVHeadend logfile. Hopefully that helps!

Many thanks, Stephen

We are going to have to do something similar in NextPVR and there is a patch ready for testing, but 7.0.6 isn't ready for full release. Would you be willing to test it? You can also check if the ABC patch for mjh works.

Sub posted an early beat build of 7.0.6 for you to try. On LE connected with ssh edit using this command.

Code:
nano /storage/.kodi/addons/service.nextpvr/addon.py

and scroll to the following and change stable to beta

GENERIC_URL = 'https://nextpvr.com/beta/linux/NPVR.zip'

then ctrl-o ctrl-x

THen in the NextPVR service addon's setting use download the latest Linux version

1 - Hopefully the hardcoded Triax override will work and you get 4 tuners.
2 - Give the ABC URL's a try to see if the mjh.nz override is what is needed.

If you do get the channels on 1600, also let us know if the OpenTV guide data is loaded, you might need to map them in Settings Channels if they are mapped to DVB-S We didn't have an NZ users with SAT>IP to check before.

Thanks for the update which was very easy to setup.  I created a clean version Libreelec and installed only NextPVR.

1. The ABC patch works great and access to the ABC channels is restored!
2.  The SAT>IP patch is more of a mixed bag. Four tuners appear and can be scanned, but not all freeview channels appear.  In the channels view, some channels such as HGTV seem to be attached to an incorrect transponder.
The good news is that most of the channels shown produce a good picture and sound with captions.

I will include the logs and screenshots of the channels view and the epg view from DVB/ATSC.

Please do let me know if I can provide any further info.

Kind regards, Stephen

Great the patch for finding the tuners has nothing to do with the scan.

You missed the logs of the channel scan, but it looks like the NZ tuning has changed since the INI file was created and and 12455 needs to changed

3=12454,H,22500,45,DVB-S2,QPSK

That should get HGTV and other channels for you.
