Hi.

I have just been changing the capture source with dramatic consequences: I 'lost' all previously recorded recordings and all types of scheduled recordings

What I did was after changing from XMLTV to O2grabber I had some slight changes in the naming of some of the channels. Even after not enabling the 'old' chanels, I wasn't able to get rid of them in the capture sources list, and i did get som EPG problems with overlapping programme schedules that I suspected came from the almost identical channel names.

So I simply made a new capture source and removed the old one. BIG mistake! After this the list of ready recordings was empty as well as the pending recordings. Having a LOT of recordings from over ½ a year, this was a completely unexpected shock!

Are there any way to get the recordings back in the list, and what is the reason for this - to me - illogical behaviour?

I'm getting cable in a couple of weeks time, as well as I intend to put my second PVR350 into production, so it would be nice to know the workings of this part of the application before I get into any more trouble...

Anyway - courtesy of VideoArchive, I still have access to my recordings, so they are luckily not completely lost.

Rgds,
Niels

Is this a behaviour I should expect?

I.e. when modifying capture sources, all previous recordings get lost from the recordings view?

If you remove a capture source, then the recording records associated with it are deleted. The video files are of course left in place.

Thank's - it's one the one hand good to know that it's expected behaviour (no local installation issue).

But Why?

A change in the capture source doesn't suddenly make all the previous recordings irrelevant?! I mean, getting a new capture card, changing or getting a new cable supplier og even changing XML TV-Guide 'supplier' shouldn't make all previous recordings disappear...?

Maybe this will be changed i a future version?

Maybe, but probably not anytime soon. Its been like this since the beginning of GB-PVR about 18 months ago, and its probably only been mentioned by one other user. I do it for a reason.

Well - I thought so Smile

So just take it as input for whenever you get to redesigning that part of the app. It's not critical anyway.

Still would really like the sort option with the newest recordings to the top as mentioned here. VideoArchive plugin doesn't really help as it is only sorting within each recording/program group.

Niels
