Most channels come in great - but a few look soft & static-y. One even has white lines running across the very top as if I'm seeing audio or tracking information on the the top few pixels. It's odd. So - do you think this is a simple tuning issue or something more evil and problematic?

If most channels look OK then it must be a tuning problem. Sometimes there is an offset to be applied. In the UK its 160KHZ. Try using the tunning application again.

That's closed captioning or other data in some cases.

When I use the tuning assistant, it gives me an 8 digit number like this for my NBC affiliate: 78000000 and I can't seem to do much with it. When I put in this number in GB-PVR in the "source channel" area - instead of the "6" normally there - I get nothing. Just a blank, static filled screen. I'm in the USA, and I'd love any suggestions about tuning.
I should also note that WinTV2000 does not seem to display the frequency - so I can't compare with that to see if I'm getting a valid frequency from the tuning assistant. I've also tried that program that transfers your WinTV2000 channel data to GB-PVR, with no improvement. Ideas?
