Folks:

I have a problem that I can't find on the forum. When I set a timed recording, it will not stop and will keep recording. It only stops when I interrupt by right-clicking on the sys-tray icon. Otherwise, it works better than the WinTV that is bundled with my PVR-150 (which is to say that I can record in stereo when WinTV cannot).

A few other questions:
What is the megabits per second for high quality recording?
Has anyone encountered problems with using the Digital Plus-B skin (my GBPVR won't even startup)?
BTW, I'm running with
Dell 8300 (P4-3.2 gHz) w/ 512 mB RAM
Audigy MP3+
Hauppauge PVR-150 (retail version)
160 and 250 gB HDDs
Thanks!

This probably means something is crashing in the recording service, and there is no intelligence left "alive" to stop the recording. Reproduce the problem, then email your logs to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look. Include a link back to this post so I know what the logs are for.

You can see/edit these in the capture source settings. Go into the 'Direct Recording Plugin' settings and you'll see a drop down list of each recording profile, with an edit button to show you the details.

DOH!!! I forgot to uninstall the TV Scheduler that came with my PVR-150. Once I uninstalled that everything worked fine. One thing that I noticed, however, is that I cannot get the application to remember to use High Quality for recordings and it defaults to Medium Quality every time.

The only other item is that the Digital Plus-B does not work. When the application is called up, nothing really happens. Below is the log (I'm assuming that the TXT file with the corresponding time-date stamp is the log file needed).

If you do a 'quick record' it'll always use the medium/default setting. Thats the way its designed to work.

If you want to use 'high', then select 'record' instead of 'quick record' and specify 'high' for the recording profile. If you dont want to do this every time, then edit the medium/default to have whatever bitrate/resolution you prefer to use.

I assume thats a skin?. If so, talk to the author. I suspect they havn't updated it to work with the most recent GB-PVR release.

I'm having the same problem. No other software is programmed (or installed) that can be causing this. However, my experience is a little different in that it will sometimes record the first program fine, and then continue recording forever on the second programme later in the day.

I came in tonight at 7pm to find it having made a 4gb file last night when it should have stopped at 4am (NTFS volume, incidentally, but it should have stopped way before then).

I'll email my logs and a link in advance, hope that's OK Smile

4gb isnt that big when you're talking video. Sounds like a couple of hours to me.

but the point is the service thought it was still recording (when it wasn't really) and the file had captured just over 2 hours worth when it should have stopped after 1 hour.

Played back fine, but with a whole heap of extra that shouldn't have been there.

Logs attached, hope they are useful and thanks in advance Smile

What time was the recording due to start/stop, so I know where to look in the logs?

02:55 to 03:55. Sorry, should have said that.

I included some previous logs so you can see it does start/stop properly under some circumstances.

I can see it doesnt stop in your logs. Unfortrunately there is nothing obvious going on in the there. I've had a couple of DVB users have report these problems as well.

Does it do it every time for you?
