Anyone tried installing this yet? If so how did you get on - any problems/benefits etc?

I haven't had a chance to try it yet. The dongle.bin does have a newer timestamp though.
You don't have to install the whole package. I typically download the exe, and open it with winzip (the exe is a self extracting zip/installer archive). Once open in winzip, I find the dongle.bin and extract it to my gbpvr/dongle directory. Backup your original first. Unplug power to the mvp and it'll download the new version from gbpvr. No need to install the Hauppauge software and then remember to stop/disable the services

Thanks for the tip - I will try this at the weekend, or tonight if I get chance.

I tried it, from the previous version, and the timestamp and size are identical.
Anyway volume on OSD disappeared. Press pause, press skip or ff, and the MVP starts to either very very slowly respond to remote control, or ignores it completely. Press pause, wait for 4 minutes, resume and the MVP no longer wants to talk. Haven't tried it enough to confirm that it will still or not randomly reboot for me, This is on D3A

I found this a bit buggy, no volume control & couldnt play mp3's.

found this workaround in the shspvr forum, remove or rename:
C:\Program Files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\image\English\StarterBar.png and C:\Program Files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\Users\your own MVP MAC address is shown here\Temp\Image\StarterBar.png "Of course it doesn't overcome the MVP skipping how many seconds it wants to. But it will let you continously skip faster without the MVP locking up, then needing to reset each time." http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=8221.0
