Hi Sub,

Would you consider 'saving' the aspect ratio settings?

Basically, GBPVR will 'remember' the previous aspect ratio setting that was selected by the User.
I think its great that we can select the AR using F7. However, once a User has selected the AR, it would be a more intuitive user experience if GBPVR retains the AR the next time the User watches TV or video.
Of course, if the User then changes the AR again, it would also be retain as the new default AR.

This feature to be provided for live/recorded TV and videos to maintain consistent user experience.

You posted this same request earlier today. Posting it multiple times doesnt help the chances of a change getting implementing.

That said, I decided after your last post, that I'd probably implement this. I'll try to include it in the next public release.

Smile Don't worry Sub.. I didn't post it again 'coz it will have a better chance..

I just wasn't sure if it needs to be in Wishlist forum for it to be recognised
as a feature request. So I decided to cover all bases Smile

cheers,

Is there a way to associate a remote key with this so I don't have to dig out my keyboard every time?

just edit the irremote.ini file in your windows directory and add say "mute={F7}" to the gbpvr section (just use whatever button isnt in use that you prefer). then save the file and reset the ir software.

although this solution (with ffdshow) seems to work for videos, dvds do not seem to follow the same rules. dvds are still stretched beyond the limits of my crappy laptop screen and, likewise, my old crt tv. i'll be hangin' on to my "classic" (old) hardware till i pay off my education... or die (whichever comes first). this means i need a solution. anyone have a good idea? another feature to consider (other than the aspect ratio "memory" already proposed) would be to set a default aspect ratio setting in the configuration utility. to me, this would be even more useful.

as an aside, my primitive monkey brain can't comprehend why maintaining aspect ratio for all video sources isn't the default behavior (like most video players). to me, it seems any modification from the original source would be considered distortion... and distortion is evil, right? am i missing something?

thanks for the help and i'm glad to have found this great program (i'm new).
