Hi, MusicPlayer seemed to me just what I wanted (not too much features like MyMusic and MusicAlbums, not too few like the built in player). However, it doesn't work for me. I can briefly see my music directory, but it either clears the available directory, or it gives an index out of range error. After that I have to restart gbpvr before it works.

Who is the author?

I am. It is a stealth plug-in that I haven't ever formally announced. If you zip up your config.xml, gbvr.exe.log file and the log files inyour jeff directory I can take a look at them. You can email them to jefflmailbox-gbpvr@yahoo.com.

Of course it is working perfectly on my machine, which is why I posted it. I didn;t announce it however because I wanted to get some feedback from others if it is working for them. It would appear not to. If you send me your logs and config.xml file I can probably track it down quickly.

If you send me the whole set of logs I could probably put that error in context and debug the problem. Just posting the error message doesn't give me enough information to go on.

In particular, I would like to see your Jeff\musicplayer-PC.log and Jeff\musicplayer-MVP.log files. If directories are showing up for a second and then disappearing it is because the plug-in thinks they have no music files in them or under them in subdirectories. The log file should document what is going on.

Ah. Now this is a helpful error log. I forgot to include Interop.Shell32.dll in the distribution and the plug-in will not work without it. I just uploaded a new version that includes it. Let me know if things now work.

Jeff,
I downloaded the last version from the wiki and it works. I like the volume control!!! It is indeed just what I wanted.
However, I have a few requests. Could you take a look whether these are feasible and fit your vision for this plugin?
  1. playlist support (m3u). As I have several albums with a playlist connected, it would be nice to have a mode that could read these as well.
  2. queue all button that queues all songs in the current folder, or if you press the yellow button while a folder is highlighted (if the order is preserved, this could also replace the playlist support).
  3. not only folder.jpg but also default.jpg as cover art usable.
  4. If there is no user input for a certain time (say 30 seconds), the plugin automatically goes to jukebox mode (I would prefer the name playlist mode, though)
  5. If possible add the time the current song is playing (nice to have, not really essential).

Greetz, and keep up the good work,

For feature 1 if you email me a playlist I can probably add this feature. I do not use playlists so I am not familiar with the data fortmat.

Feature 2 is already there, except you have to push the play button. If a folder is selected it will queue all songs in the folder. I plan to modifiy it to queue any subdirectories as well, but it does not do this yet.

I can add feature 3 in the next release.

Feature 4 is not possible on the MVP (current position is not given to the plug-in). I may add it for the PC, but since I only use the MVP I may not get to this for a while.
