What drivers do I install?
It never occured to me to get to that point, before I ordered the card.
XP Pro SP1.

Just grab the most recent PVR150/500 drivers from http://www.shspvr.com/smf

They'll work fine on all versions of XP.

In the listing for the 150 drivers, there's no mention of the 500 at all. This is why I asked Big Grin

The driver version (CD) for download, includes all drivers for all the cards.
I have already installed that, for my 250.
Could I get away with just swapping cards, or am I going to have to do the clean, wipe, pray, and reinstall method? Wink

Ignore my previous post.
I took a chance, put in the new card, restarted, installed the latest drivers from shspvr, and (once I wandered through config a couple of times) managed to get both tuners working. (I forgot to make tuner 2, device 2) Wink
Now to get FM radio working...I may have a cable provider issue, as I'm not sure they even broadcast FM, unless you pay extra for it.

OK, I went into direct.ini and copied the (withFM) to the other.
I set device 1 as PVR-500 with FM.
Set device 2 as PVR-500.
Still no FM. It simply says I have no tuner.

Geez Sub, you sure are teaching me a lot tonight Wink
I figured it out. If I'm recording with both tuners, obviously I can't hear FM at the same time.

Hey Reboot,
First, thanks for tipping me off to GB-PVR, I love it! (And of course thanks to sub for developing it!)
Did you wind up getting two PVR-500's like you were talking about in the http://www.byopvr.com forums? If so...how did it go for you? Any problems? I should be getting my 500 tomorrow and I want some input before I order up a second Smile

Yup. The second one arrived today, so I'll install it tonight.
It should install with no issues, providing you remember to set the tuners up as device 3 and 4 in config, then get the channel listings for each tuner.

@sub (or anyone else that may know) is the only way to add/remove FM stations by editing the direct.ini file?

The only problem I have, is that renamerecordings doesn't seem to want to work any more. Comskip and comclean do still work though.

The recording quality is MILES better than my 250 ever was, and I haven't started tweaking yet (other than a GOP of 5). I think I'll just leave it as it is.
