Ran through a quick installation of gbpvr after updating the drivers and software of my Hauppage PVR150 last night. Forgot to set the Recordings directory, and found the shows I had set to record last night all hanging off the root of my C: drive.

Decided that they'd be better off on my much larger D: drive, I created a directory (sorry, still can't call 'em "folders") and moved the recording directories under it. I re-ran config, and set the Recordings directory to the newly created (and populated) directory. Well, guess what . . . now nothing shows in my recordings view in gbpvr.

So I figure there must be an XML, ini or database file somewhere that holds the pointers to those old show locations. Is there? And is there a way to update it?

Thanks . . .

nah there is no easy way to readd these files to the database, once they are gone, they;re gone. gbpvr does a scan about every 8 minutes, and if the files arent there, they are removed from the database (it presumes you deleted them). if you want to view these files you going to have to use a video plugin (eg "Video Library").

OK . . . thanks.

For future reference, is there a way to move them where they'll remain accessible via the Recordings option?

PS. Very impressed with gbpvr. Makes me regret the lifetime activation of my ReplayTV . . . Smile

nah you cant easily move them and keep them in "recordings" there are various plugins that will keep this information for you, but you need to use those plugins to display the info.

Either MyVideos, VideoArchiver, or Xrecord each have ways to do this for you. Just pick the one with the interface and features you like.

That is one of the BEST features of RenameRecordings. You can always tell what the file is, even from dos...

That and Video Archive, that shows the files by name, and can sort anyway you want, it makes watching files that aren't in the database a snap.
3x MVPs (not used anymore)
XBMC
Hauppauge 150 via SVideo
Comcast Digital Cable
Motorola HD Cable box channel changed via Firewire
Vista Home Premium with RDP hack
AMD Athalon 64 5000+
340gig sata, plus 80SATA+3x160IDE Drives in XP machine for storage.

Thanks for the pointers to the plug-ins, Folks. Yet another great feature of gbpvr . . . you can add whatever features you want!
