I'm able to capture video and it playsback fine in wmp but when I try and watch live tv i get a 'failed to communicate with recording service'.

I finally killed linux and mythtv after reinstalling about 20 times. I really hope this is easier.

Email your logs over support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

Exactly what type of capture card do you have? GB-PVR is failing to find the
drivers on your machine. It looks like you've either configured for the
wrong type of card, or you dont have the drivers correctly installed on your
machine.

I have a pvr-250mce, drivers downloaded from the following link

http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_mce.html

The zip file downloaded contains 7 folders. The only folder that had drivers that windows xp would accept was the "WinTV-NOVA-T_MCE_2_104_22345WHQL" folder. There were other folders listed that made more sense but windows would return 'can not install hardware', so I just assumed they were incorrect.

The card works fine in FullScreen TV Viewer found at http://iridia.ulb.ac.be/~fvandenb/tools/tools.html

Thats not the drivers for a PVR-250. They're drivers for a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T.

I suspect you dont have the hardware you think you do, or its managed to install the drivers in some oddball, not quite functioning way.

Most PVR250 owners get their drivers from here: http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=6679.0
