Only if they're shoutcast streams. If they are, then just save the .pls file in the c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\netradio directory.

Sub,
Do you think it would be a lot of work to implement other types of streams?

Most of the radio stations in my area use .asx streams (ie. http://origin.www.cbc.ca/mrl2/livemedia/...nnipeg.asx,
http://p97stream.fsfrhosting.com/Power97live.asx
http://www.jr-digital.com/asx/citi.asx
) it'd be great to be able to use them.

I've been doing c# programming for quite a while now, would it help to get it implemented in gbpvr if I wrote up a stub player for .asx streams?

The reason it only supports shoutcast streams is because these are a in MP3 format, which is the only format compatible with the MVP.

One of the types of clients I support. See http://www.hauppauge.com/html/mediamvp_datasheet.htm

Its a small cheap device which produces a great TV picture. You can have several of these around your home allowing you to watch recording, listen to music etc.

That MediaMVP datasheet says it supports .asx playlists too.

Im assuming this is done in software when using their application, or is it possible that this hardware has been added in one of the revisions ??

Just thinking aloud, now..

Is it possible for GB-PVR to activate external programs (script fashion, etc) ?

Im thinking along the lines of having some sort of netradio player capture the stream to hd, some other app convert it to mp3, and then GB-PVR could play it.

Im not sure if winamp can receive one format (.asx) while saving in another (mp3) at the same time.. and if it will allow GB-PVR/etc to play that file before it is closed.

---------
edit: another post in this forum gives some clues how to do it with shoutcast/etc.. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=7348

this is going to be dumb i know but gotta ask anyway. What's a .pls file, where do i get them or how do i generate them. Trying to add favorites to the net radio and i'm guessing this is how you do it.

Goto http://www.shoutcast.com & click on one of the yellow 'Tune in' buttons & save the .pls file, rename it & save it in the gbpvr\netradio folder

You can add the selected net radio station to your favourites by pressing the record button.
