I have been using the cable tuner but am thinking about getting satelite. The MCE does not come with an IR Blaster. What solutions are available besides buying a 150 (which is my worst case). I dont want to use the USB-UIRT since sub is dropping support and has lots of problems.

Suggestions appreciated.

How are you changing channels on the cable box? And why won't this work for a satellite box?

Support for the USB-UIRT for changing channels is not going away. Sub said he was not going to support the USB-UIRT as a 'Receiver' in future releases.

I am using the built in tv tuner. No cable box.

Oh, I misread thank you for the clarification. So I can buy a USB-UIRT.

Yes, as ple pointed out above, I'm only dropping the receiver aspect of it. It will still work well as an IR Blaster.

The problem stems from two processes trying to use the USB-UIRT at the same time. The recording service was using the blasting aspect, while the client was using the receiver aspect.
