I started using GBPVR back in March and have run it reasonably sucessfully since then. Just recently I had a 'failed' recording when I was away from home. Nothing I could se in the logs helped me in working out the problem, so I guessed the PC just didn't power up as it should.

I recently upgraded to 0.92.11, found some skins that still work (!) and all has been well. The epg even started to upgarde itself properly, well done sub. But the PC has been turning itself on at strange times and not shutting down when it should. Oh well, at least it is quiet!

Then yesterday I had another failed recording! Am I right that gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log restarts itself each time the epg upgrades in the night? Should it roll back the previous logs as -1, -2, -3 etc?

After I found the failed recording (soon after it should have finished) I re-booted the PC. gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-1.log starts at this time.

The previous log is gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-2.log and contains the following:

What is this last entry? I may have used Live TV at that time, not something I do very often I admit. Did that kill the service? Hence no more entries in the log. The system was still on standby yesterday morning, I remember checking around 8:30 a.m.

No, its a new log is created each time the recording service is restarted.

The "LiveTV File Removal Thread" always runs in the background. Its started each time the recording service is run.

That section of log above just shows the first couple of seconds of recording service starting. Nothing interesting there.

Thanks for the reply sb, taken me ages to get back to this!

Seems my problem is the system failing to come out of standby, I caught it doing it again today. It used to do it, now it sometimes fails.
