I have 2 pvr cards 1 pvr-150 none MCE and a pvr-250 none MCE. I would like to be able to watch tv and record a diff show at the same time. Do i need 2 cable boxes to do this....i have digital cable HBO SHOWTIME all that. I hope not. If not how do i go about hook this up from the pc to the cable box. I'll be using the GBPVR the lastes ver. I hook up 1 card just to test it out and it works find but on the tv i have is a 32" and it does not fill the hold screen when watching tv...how can i fix that.

Thanks

Can you set up two TVs (with antenna input) and watch two different channels on them? If not - you need two boxes...

If your cable cable provider transmits your channels using either encrypted broadcasts, or if the channels are digital, then you will need a cable box for each PVR card. This is because these cards cannot tune in digital broadcasts, and they cannot decrypted encrypted channels.

On the other hand, if you cable provider transmits regular old fasion analog transmissions with no encryption, then you might be lucky enough to put a cable splitter in before the cable box, and just connect to the RF tuner input on the back of your tuner card.

Its highly likely that HBO SHOWTIME etc are either encrypted or digital.

To be quite honest, if your provider transmits encrypted or digital, then there is no way around it, and you'd need a external cable box to act as the tuner.

The most you can hope for, is the provider also transmits most of the channels as analog channels with no encryption. I think this is pretty common in the USA, but not in the rest of the world.

Uncheck the 'run in window mode' option in the config app.
