Sorry if this has been answered before, but I didn't turn up anything here or on shspvr that looked the same...

Using a PVR-500MCE

When I watch through LiveTV, the picture is fine, but no audio comes through (not even soft). As soon as I switch to timeshift mode, the audio is fine. The audio is also ok on recorded/replayed TV. For now I have turned off the live preview option in the Misc tab of the config, but channel switching with that is rather slow (compared to preview/normal tv). Is there a setting I am missing somewhere that would enable the sound for the LiveTv preview?

I've tried different drivers for the PVR-500, but that doesn't seem to affect things at all.

Quick system info:
GBPVR (GBPVR09211.msi)
Hauppauge PVR-500MCE (PreRelease 2.0.34.23172 drivers from shspvr)
WinXP Pro (SP2)
Celeron 1.1GHz
512MB SDRAM
MSI Geforce FX 5200
Nvidia DVD Decoder Software
SB Live Value

US Cable (Charter/Analog)

With live preview enabled, try setting the deinterlacing to 'encoder pass-through'

Thanks for the quick reply - here's what I found:

It looked like that field was already set to encoder pass-through. I tried the other three settings (None, Deinterlace Filter, and ffdshow raw video filter). I had audio on all of the other three settings, but the video is markely worse (interlacing effects).

The ffdshow looks like the least bad of the other three... Is there any normal reason I shouldn't have sound on the encoder pass-through setting?

Yes, I think there was a bug that was stopping it connecting to the intervideo(?) decoder in that release. Try the new release due today or tomorrow, it'll hopefully resolve this for you.

Sounds good - thanks again. I'll try it when the new release is out.
