I'm using a VideoMate Compro T300 card (which is a DVB-T card using BDA drivers).

I've gotten to the point in configuring Sources where you map broadcast channels to the EPG channels. It scans through 51 channels, and finds nothing.

I'm in Australia, if this helps.

My sanity checks: I've used graphedit, as I've seen suggested, and my BDA.ini looks accurate. If I select a tuner card in the BDA list *other* than T300 (for example, T200) I get a nasty error about being unable to find the tuner card - so this leads me to believe that I've got the right card selected, and BDA.ini is fine.

A friend of mine uses SageTV at home, and I copied his xmltv.xml file just to set up my EPG channel listing (I figure I'll sort out xmltv later once this problem has been ironed out. For now, all I need is the channel info, doesnt matter if the programme listing is a little out of date).

Also, I've updated my tuner card driver just yesterday to the latest one available (something.something.something.23 [my card shipped with x.x.x.22])

Also, I've installed the software that shipped with my card, and -that- detects the digital channels no problem at all (so, it's no antenna problem).

Also, I'm using Windows XP media centre edition 2005. However, I assure you I'm not running the "media centre" program before GBPVR, so I dont *think* that's the problem. Besides, if that were the problem, I guess the software that came with the tuner card wouldnt work either - and that works fine.

Not sure what other information to include in this post, I hope someone out there is able to help me (and since GBPVR is made by a crew in new zealand, I'm thinking there should be pretty good support for aussie reception)

Try editing config.xml and setting <BDAScanType>2</BDAScanType>. It might help.

you legend! thankyou so very much. I'm really excited now, cos this means gbpvr is the only program I know of that works with my tuner card (except the junk that got shipped with my card), and let's face it, gbpvr is pretty damn awesome.

Again, cheers mate!

I too have the exact same problem, however unfortunately this tip: <BDAScanType>2</BDAScanType> didn't work. On several channels it shows 25% quality but only once does a channel show a huge strength readout. That didn't make any difference.

The MuxChecker utility suggests:

NO MULTIPLEXER FILTERS WHERE FOUND ON YOUR MACHINE.

Is my lack of a multiplexor the reason I'm not seeing any channels?

I am having the same problem.

I have attempted the other fixes mentioned on the forum including updating the Compro drivers to version 1.3.1.24, along with changing the following:

<BDAUsePsiParser>false</BDAUsePsiParser>
<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>6</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>
<BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>15</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>

It seems that on some channels as inspector71 mentioned, just before the scanning changes to the next channel it finds 25% quality but only for a fraction until it changes to the next channel. Maybe the Compro card needs longer to look and tune in? And on one channel just before it changes it has a strength readout of like 234345958!!

Any further suggestions?

Thanks.
Jeff.

You could try running the reregisterFilters.bat file included with GB-PVR. It might help, though I seem to remember another user saying scanning didnt work for him with recent compro drivers and he had to use older ones.

I did actually see that post, and I changed my drivers to the 'old' ones that they recommended to go back to, with no luck.

I also tried the re-register.bat file, no luck either.

I have deleted all other versions of the drivers for the Compro, then reinstalled the driver version 1.3.1.24.

Ran the channel map/scan after deleting and readding the device into the config to ensure, it found 3 channels (compared to the 20-odd digital channels found normally). So some success, but not enough channels!

As I still have MCE installed on the same PC, do I need to do anything with it first?
