I have figured out how this cool little app works but I'm just not having the kind of success that I want. For some reason, the left margin of the GBPVR menu is offset by roughly 1 inch from the actual edge of the TV screen. I've tried to widen the "width" setting which only expanded the right side of the viewable area. Adjusting the offset only made the left edge disappear behind the left margin as if it were some sort of solid border. This problem only affects the MVP menu screen (blue skin is the default). Video files play normally.

Any suggestions?

P.S. - I think the original thread on this subject has been deleted because I simply couldn't find it. The link on the wiki only takes you to the Developer forum, not the thread itself.

I have the same problem. Except that on my TV the left black bar is about 3 or 4 inches wide. I guess it depends on the TV size. Are you using S-Video between the MVP and the TV? Have you tried using the other output?

Actually, i'm using the composite cables. My TV doesn't have an S-video input. This is the weirdest problem. I thought this plugin would solve the issue. I swear I'm missing something important here.

All the plugin does is move and size a box for an easyer was to find the best settings for you MVP. You then need to manualy enter them from the config program. I beilve you are doing this right.
Try this run the config program and set it to
Width 700
Height 600
X Offset 0
Y Offset 0
Then see if you can get it sized on the MVP.

Ok, get this. The screen fixed itself! All I did was change from the default skin to BlueMCE and now everything is fine. I restarted the recording service as well as the MVP server each time I edited the ScreenPosition options so I know I was doing things correctly... Weird...

OK now that is weird.
But I am glad you have it working.
Did you try changing back to the default skinand see what happens?

I have managed to size the main gbpvr screen correctly, but other screens like the built in guide and recording pages are still not sized correctly. Is there a way to change the numbers for each individual screen?

(It's annoying to not see the top inch of the title of the screen or guide or whatever.)

You mustnt have sized the main screen correctly then. All screens will appear in the same rectangle on the MVP.

If you're missing the top inch of the TV Guide, then you're also missing the top inch of every other screen.

I can understand that, but what I can't determine is the relationship between the 'global' setting and the MVP specific setting in the config file. By changing global I seem to be able to 'mask' out (for example) the bottom 2 inches of the TV, but I can't under any conditions seem to force the MVP display to "drop" an inch to show the top even after using the numbers shown in the plugin. Odd.

If you dont have MAC specific setting for your MVP, then it'll use the global ones.

What number are you currently trying? MVPHeight + MVPOffsetY should not exceed 576 for PAL or 480 for NTSC, otherwise it'll have to ignore some of your settings.
