Hi Everyone,

I am trying to get DVR-MS Playback working on my MVP

Ive got the latest version of GBPVR installed and .wmv playback is working without any problems on the mvp

Ive also installed powervcr II, as if i have read the forum correctly this will install the cyberlink mux?

On selecting a dvr-ms file for playback transmvp runs and playback starts, but there is no picture and occasional sound.

Ive rendered the dvr-ms file in graphedit and its shows mainconcept(hauppauge) mpeg video decoder and for audio, mainconcept(hauppauge) mpeg audio decoder, is this correct?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Can you post the results from MuxChecker? http://www.gbpvr.com/MuxChecker.zip

GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer

Firstly, that mux is really really old. I recommend you use 5.0.0.727 or higher. Maybe the 4.x ones, but I havnt tested them.

You seem to end up with two things in your graph that I dont have:

20:59:36.406 INFO Graph contains the following filters:
20:59:36.421 INFO - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
20:59:36.421 INFO - C:\MVP000DFE0028C1.mpg
20:59:36.421 INFO - CyberLink MPEG Muxer
20:59:36.421 INFO - Decrypt/Tag
20:59:36.421 INFO - C:\DOCUME~1\ALAN\Desktop\BEAR~1.DVR

Where did the DVR-MS file come from? Was it recorded with GB-PVR or something else?

I will have a look around to try and find a more recent mux like the one you mentioned, and perhaps that might make a difference.

The dvr-ms file was actually recorded by a media center pc. Am I trying to do something that wont work anyway?

Thanks for you help Sub.

I'd guessed it was recorded by MCE. Microsoft add some special DRM stuff into their DVR-MS recordings, which I guess is why the "Decrypt/Tag" filter is added.

I'm not sure if it will work at not. I've never tried a DVR-MS file recorded with MCE.

Well ive tracked down the later mux files, and checked its the only one listed in the mux checker, but it hasnt helped

Looking at the graph file created in the gbpvr folder by transmvp, its not linked in the same way that graphedit does if you render the dvr-ms file. I know that the transcoding will obviously be different to normal playback as its using a different mux, but it dosent quite follow the same logic. I have attached 2 pictures to try and show what i mean Smile

I'll try to make a minor alteration to cope with this, and post back a little later.
