I like to record stuff through external tuner. IE Camcorder, etc. I would like the simple feature of a one-touch button to begin default recordings and not have to start a scheduled time, quality or record type etc. It would just begin recording at the default quality (a configurable default because I prefer High Quality) and just push stop when we want.

For a camcorder you might be better off with WinTV or something else. Its better designed for this purpose.
GBPVR Server:

You can configure the medium quality to anything you like, and since medium quality is the default, that is what will be used. If you set medium quality to be the same as high... you've got what you want Smile
I'm not always right

Setting medium quality to mean something other than mediocre is counterintuitive.

We should be able to select the default and one-touch recording quality because that makes sense.

Too many apps suck because the authors of poorly thought out "features" insist they are usable if one chooses to think of them in a counterintuitive way.

When you write your own PVR application, you too can have it work the way you want it to...

Agreed Big Grin - Sub has put a lot of hard work in to building one of the best (in my opinion the best) PVRs available and this is all for free

I do think it might be usefull to expand the recording quality settings - Caught me out initially - Maybe have a "Add new quality" button - If the admin has only added one no quality options are given to the end user (might help the WAF)... - This would also allow users to have unlmited recording settings...

I don't expect this to happen quickly - I'm sure Sub has much better things on the famous todo list... - And this would be very little gain for a lot of work I imagine

Maybe could be renamed "default"?

Sorry about touching a raw nerve yesterday, but after spending many frustrating hours repeatedly running into "issues", I expressed what I thought.

Gbpvr has such great promise that the "issues" I encountered frustrated me similarly to a parent that knows their child can be the best if he/she only overcomes a few minor shortcomings.

Finally, from my experience, if several users that understand the app think something is inadequate, it usually is. Just my 2 cents.

Yes computers can be frustrating - Remember GBPVR isn't hasn't reached version 1 yet so there are bound to be some issues to be worked out...

What issues do you have? If you post them I'm sure many people on the board will be happy to help you sort them.

The vast majority of users seem to have GBPVR running without major problems - so we should be able to get you sorted...
