Hi, jsut got latest version of GB-PVR all up and running fine, almost.

I have a pvr 350 card and have it working fine using tv out on that card. However i am wanting to use emulators as well for a complete home entertainment system. And am looking at how good the quality is by using the tv out on geforce card instead. My problem is that when i change it to software decoder to show on the desktop instead of using the tv out on the 350 card, i get no tv screen up, just a black screen. Is there a problem with using software to show on the desktop and having a 350 card installed.

thanks

What codec are you using for playback? Are you using VMR or Overlay?

using vmr codec
also running in window mode not fullscreen, if that makes a difference
and software decoder is set to default
I have 3 options
default
Intervideo noncss
Nvidia decoder
or cyberlink decoder

[update]
tried all the differnet decoders, intervideo and cyberlink gove errors, cant play back file and the other 2 just give a black screen in both vmr 9 and overlay mode

thanks

Sounds like you've tested all the combinations then! Did you try VMR7 too?

Are you using FFDShow - and does turning it off make any difference?

I should have mentioned at the start - I have a 350 and use the tv-out on a geforce with no problems.
I use the Cyberlink decoder as it looks much nicer than the hauppauge through TV-out. You cant use VMR with Cyberlink.

yup tried using ffdshow on and off etc still no luck
im going to do a clean reinstall of xp and everything else, so maybe once i clean up all the junk off and start again i will have more luck

when i try to use the cyberlink decoder i get an error popping up saying Error:Failure Playing back File
this is with ffdshow turned on and using overlay

[update]

woop finally got it going turned off ffdwhow used overlay and its all working sweet now

thanks for the assist

[update - again]

#### maybe not. picture was there then it went black again, but when i right click on window or move tyhe window about the picture flickers up, its defientely there but not showing properly fort some reason

[another update]

seems the screen goes blank when the on screen menu is up, but when left alone and the OSD hides the tv picture is viewable
