Tips regarding a screensaver or video.

Who can give me some advise or tips for the following issue.

I have here from a DVD some converted avi files of a fireplace, fish tank, winter snow scenery and a birdcage.

Now I want to run these files as a sort of screensaver when I am playing my music.

These files are sound less because I havend yet added the wav and avi file together. I don’t want to have bird or fireplace sound running true my music.

My preference goes out by running these files on my command or only with the music library.

Can someone help me out by giving me some pointers of how you would do this.

Oh buy the way; I can convert them for example into a normal windows screensaver but I am not a computer genius who can write there own plugins for GBPVR

There isnt really a way you could do this in GB-PVR. Its either playing a music file or a video file, but cant play both at the same time. Your best bet is to investigate the Windows screensaver option.

With the last release Sub, you introduced the SS option. Could he not replace the standard GB-PVR logo with one of his images? Providing its the same size etc?

Thats not what he asked for. That would only give him a black background with a small custom image that fades in an out every 10 seconds. He ask for being able to play an AVI of fish tank fullscreen as the screen saver. There is currently no way he could do this in GB-PVR.

I had a play with GraphEdit and got it to render an mpeg file and an mp3 in the same graph - I disconnected the sound from the mpeg playback then set GraphEdit to play. The effect was right - a silent video playing with the music at the same time.

I then realised it would be a tricky thing to co-ordinate for music playlists etc - particularly when using an MVP.

Nice idea though.

I have tried some couple of things and this is what seems to be working.

If I play a soundless avi file of a fish tank or a fireplace in windows media player than this movie will run at the same time as the music in gbpvr. It has one advantage and that is that it will run again and again as soon as the clip has ended.

I also tried to work the movie in to a screensaver. The problem here is that when I download screensaver creator software that I always have a water brand or brandname banner in the bottom of the movies.

I don’t know if someone from the forum has a good tip regarding good screensaver software without any banners or logo’s within it.

Or if you have any tips to solve this in a proper way your help is highly appreciated.

someone could implement this as a plugin fairly easily now, since you can have custom screen savers now, all the plugin would have to do is play the file whenever the screensaver is activated. the only problem is that music playback would stop....

and you would have to push the "stop" button to exit the screensaver.
