That would be nice to have different icons. Like at least i renamed both to properly match, as it makes more sense to have the icon red when recording (most formats use this.) and green when not recording. Thats an easy fix, but maybe have this a new default, it seems the more logical formatting.

Aaaw. Oh well, that's cool. MOST applications use red to let you know it's recording, or in progress, so i just thought i'd ask (IE-All other PVR proggie's i've tried, Audio Recorders, Monitor programs, All Remote buttons made. No biggie. That was my logic of thinking. Smile

Most programs and electric stuff uses red = off and green = on.

Well, actually most recorders have a red LED that's off when it's idle and one when it's recording. It's almost never a switch between two "on" colors like red/green.

I must admit, the first time I saw GBPVR's icon I was sure it is recording, and seeing it become green during a recording was a bit confusing. By now I'd gotten so used to it - I don't want to change it.

The only change that might be reasonable is to have the "red" icon changed from red to some dark gray. In that sense you will have an "off" green LED...

That's not true, I guess it must be different in the USA. I've been DJ'ing for at least 9 years and all my audio gear uses red to record (Audio component when one, DAT player,MD Player,VCR,Samsung DVD Recorder,Cassette Recorder,DJ Sampler.) and all my software i use also uses red as a recording indicator. (MS Recorder, Adobe Audition,Audigy Playcenter,Skype -when in use, Girder, Meedio,GotPVR.) just to name a few.

red is always off, and green is always on. it just depends how you look at it, if you are thinking of it as being "on" or "recording". since it may be in use but not recording, it seems right the way it is. otherwise you might think its recording when you are just watching live preview mode.

just deal with it, its not a huge issue.

Yes, thats pretty much how I'd thought of it. Like traffic lights. Green for go. Red for doing pretty much nothing, waiting for the green.

I can actually totally see it that way too.

Just for the record as mentioned by REVEN. I DO deal with it. No reason to speak for me. As i said a few times already, it's NO BIG DEAL. Just a simple question. If you mistakenly took what i said out of context, and thought i was bitching because it COULDN'T be that way, i wasn't. Just simply a question, thats all.
I was just explaining the OTHER side (2 sides to everything in life.) of why it also made sense to have RED=Recording, that's all. No one's upset or anything here. Everything is cool. Smile
