I am having trouble installing gb-pvr. Whenever i start the installer, it says

"error 1324. The folder path 'DivX?6.0 Codec.conf' contains an invalid character."

I am just less off reformatting, I have reinstalled .net framework and windows installation package. Any ideas?

I also have another question about installing 150MCE on a non-MCE OS. Should I use the MCE specific drivers or just follow the normal route of installation.

I found this via Google:

"This error normally occurs as a result of an invalid registry entry, where a value identifying a path contains an invalid character. Search the registry for the path in question. See the Microsoft KB Article listed below for a quick step-by-step for completing this process."

Basically, it says to search the registry for all instances "DivX?6.0 Codec.conf" and fix it to whatever it is supposed to be. I don't have any such key in my registry, so I can't help you figure out what it is supposed to be.

I can't find anything like that in the registry either. I didn't eve have divx 6.0 ever installed on this computer since i prefered the cleaner 5.2.1. There were a couple keys related to realplayer that appears to have some sort of DIV6 fixed to it, but it's still far from resembling the .conf error i am getting. I just hope i won't have to re-format.
