Let me start with this, yes I have searched a couple of different ways on 3 or 4 different occasions.

I know this is good topic, there are at least 3 ways I have seen and only used 1 in the past 9 months. I understand the following can do it:

1) latest GBPVR build
2) Video Archive plugin
3) rectracker
4) I think Xrecord can, not sure

I have used rectracker in the past, 5 months ago and can not for the life of me get it to work again. VA and the built in one to GBPVR says zap2it only. Is that using the zap2it data as a whole or just with the built-in zap2it function of GBPVR?

When does Video Archive prune recordings? I see nothing in the postprocessing or postepgupdate batch files.

Thanks

John

Often with XMLTV I only have a show name and generic description available. This is obviously not enough to tell if a show is a duplicate or not.

zap2it is the only EPG method that supplies unique show identifiers for each show, so if the feature is enabled, GB-PVR can use these show identifiers to check if it already has a recording for a show this ID.

Very well, I will go back to using zap2it built-in functionality. I believe I read in the releast notes a fix to be able to get more than 4 days of EPG data.

Thanks sub!

Don't know if it is working right yet. The nightly updates are working, however if I manually fetch with the systray Recording service it throws an error eventually. Can't work on it now, going on vacation (holiday).

I have some errors in the logs, I get errors when I run it manually too. I am not having any luck with the VA plugin or the new function in GBPVR to prune repeat recordings. I got back from a week vacation and one of my reoccuring had 3 copies from the past week. I can't imagine that the Renamerecording utility is causing a problem, but I can eliminate it yet. It is handy to have the episode names.

I had success many months ago with rectracker on my old system. I will try rectracker again and send you the logs Jorm, or post them here.

You can look at the pendinglist.log file in the jeff subdirectory to see what the video archive plug-in is doing. It only prunes the duplicate if the UniqueID's of the show match (and if the prune duplicates option is checked in the config app).

Well I can't seem to get any consitancy with anything I do.

Jeff, there is information, quite a bit in the pendinglist.log. I can still see several copies of the same show recorded. I will digest the log and determine if the UIDs are indeed Unique.

Jorm, I am getting better results with rectracker in the parallelprocessing.bat file (I am using rectracker.exe -add %1). I get errors, here is what is the the log file I direct the execution to (this is after comskip runs and before renamerecording runs):

Command -add
Error System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.

at System.Int32.Parse(String s)

Stack at System.Number.ParseInt32(String s, NumberStyles style, NumberFormatInfo info)
at System.Int32.Parse(String s)
at RecTracker.RecordingTracker.Main(String[] args)

Thanks for any help either of you, or anyone, can provide.
