I'm using a custom task that adds a button to the GBPvr menu to update my xmltv file. Is it possible to configue the same button to also update the epg when it has finished updating the xmltv file? as i tend not to leave the pc on for it to automatically update so it would be very handy to be able to just press one button in the menu to update both files in one go.
many thanks

Sounds pretty easy... call the following after you have finished the import

eg in a .bat file you could do this:

c:\xmltv\xmltv.exe tv_grab_uk_rt --days 14 --ouput 14daysEPG.xml
c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVR.exe -OnlyUpdateEPG

please note i haven tried it myself yet.

Ive had a look and you can only launch .exe files from the custom tasks menu. So ive written a quick bit of code that will launch any file you wish, given the entire file path.

eg.
"c:\EXElauncher.exe" c:\index.bat

will launch index.bat in the root of c drive

Run it without passing a string and youll get info on how to use it.
If you supply a bad file path it'll tell you what you passed to it.

... so to complete the original post off...
create a bat file with the parameters you normally give xmltv.exe and the gbpvr.exe switch and any other stuff you want to run, just like in my last post.

err..? you can directly call a batch file... click browse (first you only see *.exe-files), type *.* in the filename-editbox and hit enter.
now you see all files including batch files.

works without problem.

Thanks for that! Though you have to agree it does kind of imply that only .exe files are allowed... Big Grin

as a matter of fact i did not know!
i'm one of those 'even-if-i-use-windows-i-don't-need-a-mouse'-type of gui. so its kinda normal for me to type the file-type in rather than select it with the mouse :-)
