After i learned about the software a little bit, i tried to use some skins. I readed all the readme's delivered by the skins (from the old and the new wikipedia).

The Problem is: If i choose @ config a skin the previe will mostly be displayed (some skins makes an error @ preview), but every other skin, than the default "blue" let's GB-PVR not start!

I choose a skin, klick ok and try to start GB-PVR -> nothing happens, the Software will not start.

Normally i would think, that this is a Problem @ Skin, but in this case... no Skin is working?

The Files are all copied into the right folders, the preview is working... only the skin itself not.

I tried to change the default skin "blue" (other Wallpaper, other directon and size of buttons, RSS and something) -> no Problem, this works fine.

Why? I don't understand this... ^^;;

Could it be that all the skins you tried are old, not being updated to work with the newes version? (I don't know, I know nothing about skins, I'm just thinking out loud)
I'm not always right

those skins are just out of date, gbpvr has been updated since they were last updated and dont support the latest versions of gbpvr.

im pretty sure tipstir has some skins that do support the latest version however, im not sure if any other non standard skins are up to date yet (its quite a bit of working maintaining a skin, especially for all the plugins).

Ah, okay =) That can be. As i tried to change the skin.xml in the main-menu, i found out, that's not ever so easy to change a skin.

Especially the Buttons are not easy (for me) to handle. Becaused i resized the buttons i had to remove the white borders for the selected button, because it's size did'nt match with the normal buttons.

No the selected Button has instead a darkblue background a normal blue... it's a nice look too ^^

Yep - probably easiest if you let us know which skins you tried, and which failed. I suspect you may have gotten them from the old wiki, as there's only a few skins listed in the new wiki, and I think that all are reasonably up to date.

the xmedia, flat blue high visibility and BlueMCE2 skins are kept pretty current, and should definitely not cause the program not to start, although certain plugins might cause problems. If so, simply let the skin writers know in plugin and skin support forum, and they will probably sort it out relatively quickly!

cheers,

tieke

@tieke:

I tried the Skins from the OLD AND the NEW Wiki(!); both Websites, the Skins don't want to start... ^^; Some of them makes Error-Messages at Startup, but ~80% don't even let GB-PVR start...

If i could find the problem, i would inform the skin-writer... but the problem is not to find out for me... Sad

dont bother with ones in the old wiki, chances are those are out of date (hence why they are still on the old wiki).

try one from tipstirs post in the community announcement thread (i think he doesnt put those skins up because of size limitations on the wiki).
