I may well have an issue with my EPG, but i seem to have a few slots in my schedule that have no details except 'to be announced'. if these slots correspond to a program i wish to record then obviously they are recorded with the name 'to be announced' which is not much use. also sometimes i have to make a manual recording if for instance the actual program i want to record corresponds to 2 adjacent 'to be announced' slots in the epg, again the recording name is not much use.

so, my question is what do i need to change in the db to rename the recording to something more appropriate. im also presuming that whatever changes made here would also have to reflected on the physical file/folder locations

thanks

Sorry, i should also say that the obvious solution to this would be to manually name the recording when setting it up, but i have tried this when making a manual recording and on my hauppage remote the various buttons on the remote dont equate to the full alphabet, dont know if im missing something.

also if i select a 'to be announced' program for recording then there is no way to manually edit this name

Can this be something for you? (I don't know how it works or anything, but I thought the name looks promising :-))

You have to manually edit the gbpvr.mdb database. The field is "sub_title". I do it alot, but I try to make sure I have a recent backup. I wouldn't want to bugger up the main database.

cheers.

for manual recordings you need to change the file name and amend the filename column in the recording_schedule table to the same. there is no programme oid associated with a manual recording. restart thr recording service and it gets picked up
