YAUIclient crashing

Hello,
Recently I have been having an issue with my YAUIclient crashing. When I relaunch it it does not go to the main menu it goes back to the program guide and channel I was just on. I have to relaunch the channel. Do I send logs from the main server or are there logs from the YAUIclient program I send?
Please advise.

Cannot login docker/arm64 image

i have successfully installed the image and get to login page localhost:8866 but i get login failed for regular admin/password
hence i have change my config.xml file to this to allow remote since docker image may see my local web as remote still ..no success
any idea ?

unknown Roku app crash

I start a program in the Roku app then I am kicked to the home screen after a couple seconds.

I cannot see anything obvious in the logs.

Playing the same program from the web UI works fine.

Nlite - no stream

I downloaded Nlite last night. Modified date on the exe is 2024-11-14. Specs for my NextPVR configuration are in my signature.

Tried to run Nlite with no parameters and received the "No NextPVR servers were detected on the network"

Ran Nlite with
nlite.exe -server:x.x.x.x:8866:0000

Nlite GUI display with guide. Select a program, select Watch
Nlite thinks for a while, the screen flashes and the guide is displayed. No video or audio stream is displayed/heard.

Recording on Mobile Browser

Hey everyone. I know there is an app that connects to your Nextpvr server so that you can ch3ck on it and everything. But, does anyone know it is it possible to connect to the Nextpvr server and recording shows on a mobile browser like Chrome browser on your phone?

Jellyfin not showing artwork

Hello,

I have my NextPVR server running and playing with the Jellyfin client plugin.
The artwork taken from the EPG seems to work fine in nextpvr but it is not showing at the Jellyfin client, whereas the rest of information from the EPG is showing fine.

Am I missing something? Is this not implemented on the plugin side?

In addition, I can filter programs by Movies, Sports, etc. Is there a way of selecting which folder nextpvr will record to based on those filters?

NextUI Client

Hope I am posting in correct forum. (Apologies if I am not)

Have been using the NextUI client for a while now. (UIdroid I believe)
Anyway, I have it installed on my Amazon Fire Cubes, and my Nvidia Shields.

Not sure what has happened, but tonight the NextUI client on my shield just stopped working.
It comes up with the main screen, and shows the menu on the left, and can scroll up and down, but when I select any option like TV Guide, or even exit, nothing happens.

I went to the forums and found 2 versions in the first post.
Originally I used the exodebug file or whatever it is called, so I tried the latest one, and it installs, but just has black screen foever, and I can't seem to access the settings via long press of dpad.
Which one should I use on the Nvidia Shield?

Also tried the Mediaix version, and it can not find my server, and does bring up the settings screen, and I manually enter my server details, then it just exits out, and I can then not get it to work again.

Only thing I noticed, is that my NVidia Shield in living room recently updated some apps via the Playstore regular updates.

I have Kodi and Tivimate installed, and both are working with my Windows based NextPVR server, and it shows active donator status etc.
Have tried uninstalling NextUI, and rebooting, then installing latest version, all no avail. Also tried rebooting NextPVR windows server.

I just tried the Nvidia Shield in my bedroom, and NextUI is working perfectly. (it is a 2017 shield)

The Shield in the main living room is a 2019 model, and the version reported is '1.6.12'

nlite client fails to find server, then crashes

I installed the nlite client on my Windows 11 laptop. It connects to the same network as my NextPVR machine. I can contact the machine via the web interface, and watch TV that way fine. But, when I start Nlite it says "No NextPVR servers were detected on the network". When I close that dialog, I get a Microsoft .NET Framework Unhandled exception report as follows

Finding recording path.....

Im back again, so I was unsuccessful in using my NAS with the inbuilt terramaster software, I am currently trying to run TrueNas scale on my NAS device after a little upgrade. again, like my last post, my knowledge is very limited.

Im looking at using this as a home server and also a small plex server, most important at the moment are 3 apps.

Sabnzbd, Plex, Next pvr. so far I have all three apps installed, if Im not mistaken the apps are installed via Kubernetes.

I have successfully downloaded a video folder using sab and have it show up in my plex library. Great, however once again its Nextpvr causing me the pain, when installing sab it lets me save my downloads on my drive
/mnt/Downloads/SabNZBdComplete

this can be mounted inside plex and lets me access the files.

I then do the same for NextPVR, and have "app recording storage" in the app info/ install set to /mnt/Downloads/NextPVR/Recordings. app installs no issues, I can add my digital tuner, see my channels and record, however the recordings seem to stay within the container/pod. if I try to set the above as a record folder I get a message from Next saying "IP address:10183 says, unable to add recording directory: Directory /mnt/Downloads/NextPVR/Recordings does not exist.

if I manually select the folder, i can see the /mnt folder but it is empty.

I seem to be in a catch 22, as the other way I thought would be to direct Plex to the custom folder that NextPVR uses, but my plex cant find that folder that way either.

I have tried changing groups, owners, run as admin, root, nobody, and end up with the same issue.

Does anyone know how I can "join" (for lack of a better word) the two apps so I can see the directory?

Also tried setting the directory as a SMB file in the hope that plex could load that, but from inside next it still cant see that file despite it being added when installing the app as the "recording location"

Live TV Stream Forced Transcoding for Emby

Hello All!

So I've been googling this as well as asked for support over on the emby forums where I was informed this might be a better venue for seeking support.
I'm not a super advanced user, but I know enough to be dangerous, so hopefully I can detail enough here to get my question properly across.

Context:
I have Emby running on a terramaster NAS that is underpowered in CPU and unable to handle any transcoding. I'm running NPVR on a somewhat decent older windows PC that has a hauppage USB TV Tuner.

When connecting directly to NPVR through the web ui on any of my other devices it works beautifully and the NPVR host machine is able to transcode the video feed just fine per my transcode settings in the settings menu.
When I attempt to connect Emby to NPVR either directly through the NPVR plugin on emby, or by pointing to the M3U playlist, Emby receives the live stream in whatever native format it was broadcast in. From there if I connect a client device to Emby, it will only work if said client can ALSO handle that same native feed and all of the bandwidth required for it. If not the Emby server steps in and attempts to transcode, which results in either a crash or very broken up video as it stops to buffer frequently.

My question is this:
Is there a way to force NPVR to always transcode the feed to something more universally friendly like a lower bandwidth H.264 so that Emby is less likely to need to intervene?

In my searching for a solution I've found the config.xml file, and inside that I've found "" which seem promising, but I've been unable to find any documentation on what the options are for this value?

I would definitely appreciate any advice anyone can offer.

Next PVR client Add on not working on Android TV

I've just bought a Sharp 50DL2KA "smart" TV.
I've installed Kodi - no prob but when I try and install the NextPVR add on I get 'app failed to load' (Tried a few times)
Am I trying to achieve something that simply will not work?

NPVR Client Fails on OSMC Update

Hello All,

I just had just accepted an update of OSMC on my RPi 3b+ yesterday, but the NextPVR Client now fails to load.

When I go into the settings on the RPi and try to enable the NextPVR PVR client 20.4.1, I get a popup window that says "NextPVR version not supported, Upgrade to '5.2.0' or higher!
Is this refering to the client or the backend? I am running a V4 backend on my Win10 media server.
I tried clicking on the "versions" button in the setting screen for the client, but a dialog saying no new versions are found.

I did notice on first boot that a different looking Kodi splash screen loaded, (only did it on first boot) so maybe that's got something to do with it?

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Of Android TV, Apple TV and Chromecast with Google TV which is the best option to use to use NextPVR on other TVs. I don't know much about Chromecast with Google TV. I am told that it has the ability to install apps, the same ones as Android TV.

My backend is Windows NextPVR v6. I have a rpi3 running raspbian 8 jessie which no longer gets updates. The latest available dpkg packages gave me this:

NextPVR PVR Client 2.14.3

Is it possible to install a newer NextPVR PVR Client on Kodi 17.3 that would allow pausing live TV (Timeshift or Extended Timeshift)? I also have a rpi2 running LibreElec and it stopped updating with Kodi 18.9 and NextPVR PVR Client 3.3.1 and Timeshift works there.

I know little about kodi but could I add the LibreElec kodi addon repository to raspbian's Kodi 17.3 and install NextPVR PVR Client 3.3.1 there or install a newer NextPVR PVR Client from a zipfile? I would remove the raspbian kodi-pvr-nextpvr package first to avoid conflicts.

Any suggestions? Major changes to the OS are not possible for me and would instead just tolerate the lack of timeshift.
