Pi - I always buy things too soon ;(
Posted by: martint123 - 2015-02-02, 10:30 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (32)

Just as I'm opening the box they bring out a new, seemingly much improved version at the same price.

This is life of course....

Quote:Let's get the good stuff out of the way above the fold. Raspberry Pi 2 is now on sale for $35 (the same price as the existing Model B+), featuring:

  • A 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU (~6x performance)
  • 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM (2x memory)
  • Complete compatibility with Raspberry Pi 1
Because it has an ARMv7 processor, it can run the full range of ARM GNU/Linux distributions, including Snappy Ubuntu Core, as well as Microsoft Windows 10.

Black Screen on a Single Channel
Posted by: wayloncovil - 2015-02-01, 06:36 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have a single broadcast channel that shows up on my Panasonic TV without issue. The TV says it has 92% signal strength on this channel.
I can tune to it in nextpvr and the screen will stay black for up to a minute or two and then eventually, the signal starts playing.
Reading around on the web, some people suggest that the broadcaster could be the source of the problem. One thread suggested using TSReader to gather some additional information about the station.
I've launched TSReader several times to look at this channel and it displays information about the channel.
I launched it recently and it said that it failed to lock signal. I tried it again and then it locked.
I'm guessing that nextpvr continues to try and lock on to the signal until it finally get's it.
Is the problem here with the broadcaster not having their transport stream configured correctly? What could I do to see if the broadcaster is the problem? Or do you think it's my TV Tuner card (ASUS EHC3-150)?
Thanks!

Broke the sound on Live TV
Posted by: wayloncovil - 2015-02-01, 12:38 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I recently installed nextpvr. Live TV was working fine, until I played with the MPEG1Audio decoder.
I changed it to MPEG Audio Decoder and the sound stopped working. I then changed it back to the Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder and it still didn't work.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and it didn't fix it.
So, any suggestions on how I can fix the sound?
Thanks!

Hauppauge DCR-2650 Tuner light comes on then goes off and screen goes blank
Posted by: TomPyd - 2015-01-31, 03:42 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

I have recently added a Hauppauge DCR-2650 with a cable card.
Every once in a while, when I click "Watch" from the guide, the Tuner 1 light comes on then goes off.
I end up with a blank screen. If I go to the devices, it will say all tuners are present and enabled and when I try again after that, everything is fine.
Attached are the logs after the black screen.
This is only a minor inconvenience, but I worry what would happen if a recording was scheduled at that time instead of my attempt to watch live.
Thanks for any help.

  Probably a stupid question...
Posted by: etnpnys - 2015-01-30, 07:43 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (27)

Up front: sorry. I'm new here.

The page at http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ty.Utility hasn't been updated since 2011, and I've searched and searched and can't seem to find an answer... What does everybody use to remove commercials from recorded TV?

I would like to have my recordings processed through something that removes commercials and then renames and moves the new file somewhere else. FWIW, I intend to play everything through Plex, which doesn't seem to support skipping commercials, so I don't think just Comskip will be enough...??

Comclean? Does that still work?
GuidePlus seems to do HALF of what I'm looking for...
Walkthroughs/tutorials?

(Setup: most recent NPVR backend on Win7 HTPC that's also my Plex server)

  No tuner available error message
Posted by: mtenboer - 2015-01-29, 07:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I am trying to set up the NextPVR client addon on an RPI and I have not been able to get Live TV to work. The EPG downloads ok from the server, but when I select a channel in the Guide I get the error message "NextPVR Pvr Client Tuner - No Tuner Available". I saw a similar problem discussed in the forums recently but no resolution. I do not have timeshift on. Any help would be appreciated.

Client:
Raspberry Pi B+
OpenELEC 5.0 / Kodi 14.0
NextPVR 1.9.17 client add-on

Sorry if this has been asked before.....
Posted by: steelfanatic - 2015-01-28, 02:39 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

I am rebuilding my Windows Home server (I use this with 4 Kodi clients and plugins and works great) this week and had two main questions: .

Does the C:\Users\Public\NPVR hold ...ALL.... of my settings? I have an HDHR Prime and an HDHR4 ATSC tuner and it took forever to tune & get all the channels right.

Also for these two tuners does anyone have a link to the exact codecs for ***** Windows 8****** for these to work correctly? My basic understanding is that I need the Cyberlink codecs to "fill in" for the missing Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder? , LAV for audio? I would hate to download a bunch of codecs and garbage (possible malware) I do not need. Thanks in advance.

How to deal with unannounced schedule changes?
Posted by: haste18 - 2015-01-27, 03:36 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (6)

Hi there,

I'm using NEWA with XMLTV EPG source to schedule recordings. Most of the time it works fine, but sometimes a channel gets a delay because of breaking news or sports events and the next scheduled program starts broadcasting with a delay of 15 - 30 minutes.

Are there any tricks to adjust this in NEWA? Is there a way to look if the scheduled program is still on time and adjust the recording time automatically if not?

Thanks for advice!

  Deinterlace on backend
Posted by: kmarq - 2015-01-27, 03:04 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

I was just curious about the possibility of performing deinterlacing on the backend NPVR server. There are numerous cheap front ends but none of them can handle 1080i streams. If the server could perform the deinterlacing then it would open up a ton more client options.

  EPG Data Dissapearing
Posted by: AquaCom - 2015-01-27, 01:09 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi

I am new to NPVR and so far I am loving it. Does exactly what I need and intergrates into XBMC just fine. However I have an issue.

I click the update EPG button in the channels page and EPG updates. I can then view the next 7 days worth of tv shows through the web interface. However tomorrow I will look and only say BBC3 is there the rest are missing. If I click update again all comes back. This is causing real issues for me with recordings. I set a program to record every week and an hour before it starts I have to logon to the server and click the update epg button to make sure that it knows the program is on and records it. Before anyone asks yes I have ticked to say auto update.

Any ideas?

THanks
