How many of you are using the Picture-In-Picture function in NPVR?

Stop TV Guide from scrolling when it doesn't need to scroll
Posted by: drmargarit - 2015-04-10, 11:34 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

If the number of channels is less than or equal to the maximum number of channels that can be displayed on the screen (7 or 8 channels or so), is there really any need for them to scroll? I would like channel 4 to stay at the top and channel 22 to stay at the bottom.

Thanks,

Jim Margarit

  3.4.6 pre-release?
Posted by: Spark - 2015-04-10, 08:27 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Is the 3.4.6 pre-release in closed beta or something?
First I got a message that I need to log in to view the link it, since all the hacking attempts, now, when I try to look at that link, it says I don't have access.

So, just wondering...

  Metadata
Posted by: Damstas - 2015-04-10, 05:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

I am using the NextPVR in Finland with live TV, but it seems that when the show is named for example "Family Guy" the metadata will come ok, but if it's "Family Guy (7)", which is the age restriction the metadata will not be available. Almost all the shows in my country have the age restriction in the shows name. Is there a workaround for this issue?

  decoder selection for 'videos'
Posted by: shaunpatrick77 - 2015-04-10, 02:59 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Wondering if filter merit responsible for the codec selection when playing a file via 'videos'?

Just noticed I'm getting ffdshow (video) for .264 even though I have a different one selected in the .264 decoder menu option.

Thanks!

  Channel specific Audio stream
Posted by: shaunpatrick77 - 2015-04-10, 02:53 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I've never been able to completely cure minor stuttering on some channels due to multiple audio codecs in the graph. I need to have codecs for MPG1 & AC3 enabled for the Oz DVB-T broadcasts, as well as AAC for live cable TV via a Colossus.

A drop down option in the Channel Details window could select the desired audio stream (default, mpg1 , ac3, aac etc) and would mean NPVR would only need to load appropriate one in the graph for live tv. The default setting would mean NPVR would run as usual and load all enabled. I tend to get a drop in CPU usage with only one audio codec loaded, as a happy bonus.

NRecord has stopped working during new install
Posted by: GoodGuy98 - 2015-04-09, 06:26 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I am trying to install NPVRSetup_3_3_8.exe on a Windows 7 64-Bit system and had a problem during the installation. Part way though, it opens what appears to be a DOS type windows and mentions installing NRecord.
After a few seconds, it produced an error message which I am attaching to this. I tried to zip up the Log folder, but WinZip complained a file was busy and did not complete. I rebooted my system and zipped up the log folder
as requested, but it may not contain all the information.

The entire text of the error message is within the attached text file.

  Buffering Issues
Posted by: Xtremeth - 2015-04-09, 04:48 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - No Replies

Here's my setup:

Kodi
HDHomerun Prime
NextDVR backend
NextDVR add-on for Kodi.

I'm having buffering issues ONLY with Kodi's NextDVR addon. I don't have issues with the NextDVR application, windows media center, or HDHomerun Viewer. The video would buffer from 0% to ~13% and play then buffer again a couple seconds later and keeps doing that. I'm not sure why its happening only with the Kodi addon...

  Request for UK scan results
Posted by: sub - 2015-04-09, 07:19 AM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (34)

As mentioned in http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...-the-world, the Schedules Direct guys are enhancing their service to include listings from a wider set of countries.

To make using the service as smooth as possible with NextPVR, they're wanting to collect information about the DVB channels people are using. At this stage they're particularly interested in Freeview and Freesat in the UK.

To help them out, we'd like to collect a few channel export files. You can create these in NextPVR on the Settings->Devices screen, by selecting your device, then clicking the 'Export Channels' button. This will make an xml file, with tuning information about the channels you've found. Zip this file up, and post it.

Thanks!

Losing Audio after certain amount of channel switching
Posted by: saitoh183 - 2015-04-09, 05:25 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I just finished configuring NPVR back on my system and everything seems smooth for the most part but i noticed in Kodi that when i go to certain channels the audio would not be on and the video would stutter. So i tested in the NPVR client and i get that after navigate to different channels randomly (stay on each channel a few seconds) i will eventually loose audio on a channel a change to and when i right click and check audio stream, there is nothing but viedo is playing with no stutter. Here is my logs and config file
