  Recording Calendar View
Posted by: thartmann6 - 2025-08-15, 12:53 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (4)

With the help of Copilot I created a python web page to show Ready and Pending Recordings. Is there any way to incorporate something similar? I record a lot of shows especially in the Fall and Winter months and like to see the weeks recordings in a Calendar view.

I've attached a screenshot of the Calendar view I created.

I know your developement time is limited these days. But it would be a nice add if you can find the time.

Thank you for your consideration.

Channel and Show Icons wrong in Kodi
Posted by: muzicman0 - 2025-08-14, 08:35 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (44)

Hi All, I am trying NextPVR again since the integration with Kodi is much better than Channels DVR (although I am still using some of the Channels DVR sources as a source in NextPVR - as well as the guide)

In the NextPVR web interface, all the series icons are correct, but in Kodi, they are completely wrong, I have tried re-downloading guide data in both Kodi and NextPVR, but nothing changes.

Also, the channel Icons are wrong on both Kodi and NextPVR.

Any ideas, or is this a known issue?  Any help is appreciated!

EDIT: Looking at this further, the show icons seem to be showing up as the Channel icons (but they are also wrong)

  Apple TV Update
Posted by: thartmann6 - 2025-08-14, 06:53 PM - Forum: NextPVR iOS and AppleTV Clients - Replies (2)

Hello,

I posted this on an old thread and didn't get a response. So I created a new post. Just wanted to check if this is a possibility.

Is there anyway to get one last update for the Apple TV app? Currently when the apple TV is set to auto (Best Available) the sound is on only 2 channel stereo. If I set the Apple TV to 5.1 audio then it plays in 5.1 surround. I like to keep apple TV sound settings to Auto (Best Available). Also, when watching in-progress recordings and skipping back/forward sometimes glitches and just keeps repeating the same scene.

I know developement has stopped due to time constraints. But wanted to ask if it was possible to get one more update that may address the above issues.

Thank you for the consideration.

Disable auto-skip when comskip is enabled?
Posted by: nextcom - 2025-08-14, 06:39 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (3)

Is there a setting that disables auto-skipping commercials when Comskip is integrated with NPVR? The default seek feature works so nicely that I just might skip on the comskip, no pun intended. I'd still like to have it as an option though, if anything just to have a visual map of where the commercials are.

Not a big deal, but just wondering if it's an option.

  OSD visibility on pause
Posted by: Haggis - 2025-08-14, 11:40 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

I'm looking to remove the OSD when pause is pressed and again when its resumed and see that there are no regular options to achieve this but there are some parameters relating to it in config.xml. I would like the Info button, as bound with Ctrl-B, to still give the OSD though.

I've tried setting OSDTimeoutInfoOnPause to zero and this removes the OSD when pause is entered but I still get the OSD when its resumed. Changing the other parameters one at a time by setting to zero doesn't seem to make any difference although with one of them set zero it resulted in the Info button not giving the OSD although I'm not sure which as I couldn't replicate it.

The parameters are:
    <OSDTimeoutInfo>4000</OSDTimeoutInfo>
    <OSDTimeoutInfoOnPause>0</OSDTimeoutInfoOnPause>
    <OSDTimeoutStatus>4000</OSDTimeoutStatus>
    <OSDTimeoutTimeline>4000</OSDTimeoutTimeline>
    <OSDMouseControls>4000</OSDMouseControls>

How can I control when the OSD appears?

Its using NPVR v7.0.2.25062, LAVFilters-0.80, and most recent video drivers.

Can't Mute After Recent W10 Updates
Posted by: RedDevilJoe - 2025-08-14, 04:57 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

This conflict between Microsoft, AMD HDMI or Realtek Audio and the mute function for the NextPVR player has me puzzled.
The deluge of Window updates, W10 Home Edition, has me buffaloed as to what the heck was going on to include motive.

1.  KB4023057 30Jul25
2.  KB5062154 31Jul25
3.  Sneaky Unannounced update during restart diagnosing mute issue (don't shut off computer message)
4.  KB5063709 13Aug25

The 30Jul25 update screwed up my video picture fit to my Vizio TV.  Got that fixed along with the icons on homescreen.
I thought the 31Jul25 update may have been a frantic move to fix the earlier stupidity, who knows.
Somewhere between update 2 and 4, I visited the systems sound page many times and the last one had a special block for NextPVR, similar to the selection reserved for AMD HDMI or RealTek Audio selection.  That disappeared, I believe with update 4.  I can mute other programs, Vivaldi mutes, and audio programs
Any idea why not I can't mute the NextPVR Client with either?

I'm totally stomped...I can't get Nextpvr to work.
Posted by: Gop - 2025-08-11, 10:05 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (10)

Hi Folks, I've never had an issue getting Nextpvr to run within Kodi. I've just built a new PC, installed the latest Kodi, Nextpvr for windows 11, configured the devices in the web client nextpvr, and nothing plays. My tuner can pick up channels, Ive deleted ones I don't want and set to be primed, they've loaded fine into kodi nextpvr addon, but nothing (one or more items failed to play.

If I try either the web client or the windows nextpvr, I get streaming failed transcoder exited, in windows nextpvr, nothing happens. I've been researching this and came across lav decoders as being necessary, so  I installed the latest lav filters, went to settings in the windows version and under the decoder section I selected lav for everything, video is set to my marantz avr. Still nothing plays. My firewall isn't blocking it.

So can someone tell me what I need to do, to get my channels to play in kodi again? I've attached the log files from the npvr web client.

Thank you in advance.

EPG not found or mismatched for some channels via DVB-T2
Posted by: Kotoka - 2025-08-10, 05:14 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (49)

Hi All,

since the machine I was using so far for NextPVR is no longer supported by Windows 11 I decided to switch from the installed Windows 10 to Ubuntu 24.04.
I installed the NextPVR .deb package and so far things appear to be fine, except for the fact that some EPG issues that appear to be similar to the ones I reported before (when using NextPVR under Windows) appear to have resurfaced:
https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=64117
https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=66173

For some of my DVB-T2 channels NextPVR fails to obtain EPG information via DVB-T2. The EPG information for those particular channels is completely missing. Other channels, on the other hand, appear to have the EPG information that belongs to a different channel. I am certain, that the wrong EPG information is associated with these channels, since the respective channels are either only German or only Italian, but the respective EPG information is clearly mismatched with the wrong language.

I know for a fact, that much more EPG information is available for those particular channels - my TV and my Blu-ray DVB-T2 Recorder are able to obtain the respective EPG information via DVB-T2 (they are not connected to the internet, so they cannot obtain this information from other sources). I can also exclude that fact, that something is off with the USB-TV tuner, that is directly connected to my NextPVR machine.

So, I know for a fact, that there is EPG information that is transmitted via DVB-T2, that NextPVR does not pick up and/or assigns it the wrong way. Maybe you can help me? I attach the respective log files.

Further information:
Operating System: Ubuntu 24.04
NextPVR version: 7.0.2.250621
TV Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV-soloHD DVB-T/DVB-T2
Region: Italy

At least the following channels appear affected (those are the ones I checked, there may be more):

1) RAS ORF1 HD (Freq: 474000000OFF SID: 20): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
2) RAS ORF III HD (Freq: 474000000OFF SID: 23):  should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"

(note, that unlike previously where channels such as RAS Das Erste HD, RAS SRF zwei HD, and RAS Kika HD were also affected, this time there appear to be only two channels, where the EPG information is completely missing but where I know it exists)

Meanwhile the following channel has EPG information that is both Italian and German, although the channel is Italian language only. In fact, I am pretty sure that the German part of the EPG information displayed here belongs to the RAS ORF1 HD channel:

3) Food Network (Freq: 666000000OFF SID: 20)

Vice versa the following channels also have EPG information that is both Italian and German, although the channels are German language only:
4) RAS 3sat HD (Freq: 474000000OFF SID: 24)
5) RAS ZDF Neo (Freq: 642000000OFF SID: 40)
6) RAS Das Erste HD (Freq: 474000000OFF SID: 22)
7) RAS ORF2T HD (Freq: 474000000OFF SID: 21)

a) Is it possible that the issues solved for Windows have never been changed for the Linux version of NextPVR?
b) I have tried to get the EPG information both with and without the "Use Strict TSID/ONID" option. It does not appear to make any difference on Linux (different from how it was for me when I still used the Windows version).

I have not recorded a stream with TS capture, since that tool only appears to be available on Windows. If you can tell me a Linux/Ubuntu alternative I will try to capture the respective stream.

  postprocessing simultaneous vs queued execution
Posted by: Druhl - 2025-08-10, 03:52 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (10)

Have worked out a pretty good postprocessing.bat for the purpose of having ffmpeg repair time stamps in my recordings. This was a problem for me for a while, either due to my IPTV provider or my ISP, but I have it very well handled now.

I plan to contribute to this community by posting the file I'm using and some detail about it once I fix one issue I have remaining.

On a different matter the other day Martin mentioned I should be redirecting stdout from my ffmpeg which I hadn't thought of myself (I was capturing errorlevels and echoing to a log file manually, which was inferior) and this has now shown me a problem I have.

If two recordings end at the same time, they appear to simultaneously call postprocessing.bat but only one actually gets the ffmpeg command executed on it and the other does not.

Is there something I'm missing to force these postprocessings to queue, so that they both fully execute, or...?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks

  Schedules Direct lineup mismatch
Posted by: arkennedy75 - 2025-08-10, 01:32 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (4)

Within the NextPVR web interface, I am unable to add more than four SD lineups.  There is a mismatch between what I see within NextPVR and SD website.  I am unclear how to delete SD lineups I see in NextPVR that do not show on SD website (ie Pluto TV or Dish Boston). See screenshots below. Thanks.
