With the Schedules Direct issue I decided to upgrade from 4.52 to the current version. Overall it went pretty well. Some of my tv recordings did not transfer over and I just started looking into that. Also, when playing thru the web browser, it says that it is having problems playing with the server (I only have one machine). i found where the desktop app can be accessed but it is showing the menu setup from the 4.52 version which I had tv listings, weather, and a few other plugins added but those of course dont work with the new 7+ version and when I go to try and access the shows that I recorded, I cannot get into that menu to access the recordings. So I went into the 4.52 version and unchecked those from showing. But when I go into the 7+ version the same menus are still showing. I am guessing it is using some sort of cache for the setup? I am at work and cannot attached any zip files for the moment.
One of the plugins I used was for all the movies that I have on a hard drive and I am hoping there is something similar for the newest version. I am very pleased overall with the change over to the newest version and Look forward to getting it going fully. Just looking for some tips/advice if possible with the limited information that I have provided so far.
Version 6.1.1(221106) Schedules Direct expiration date is: 2026-08-17 Nextpvr payment received menton holding 8-20-25
Nothing after scheduled 8-22-25 When I attempt to schedule shows after that date nothing available though I see on paper tv guide they are no matching shows found. Example PBS: The Marlow Murder Club and Unforgotten 8-24-25
I didn't notice this right away but I found that I only have 2 days of EPG data on both of the NEXTPRV windows PCs.
I can login to schedules direct ok but when I attempt to find a lineup I get an error " unable to log into schedules direct."
I also have an WMC and a MythTv and both of also use Schedules direct and they were not effected and update just fine. Its only these two NEXTPVR PC that lost the ability's to update about the same time, maybe 12 days ago. .
Yesterday I updated NextPVR to version 7.0.2 from an older version of 4.2.5. I have recorded a few TV programs with the new version and they recorded fine and are located where I have other recorded TV programs from v 4.2.5. I cannot get the older recordings to display along with the recordings from the newer version. And when I say 'display' I mean viewing all of the thumbnails created for the recordings together, both from the old and new versions. Is there something I can do to get all of the NextPVR recordings to display together?
Hi, this problem only occurs when recording 2 consecutive shows. If I have a recording that finishes at say 1:30 p.m., and the second recording starts at 1:30 p.m., the first recording finishing at 1:30 p.m. is fine. But the second one, starting at 1:30, is always stuck in a loop of playing the first 30 or 40 seconds. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening?
I am running NextPVR Version: 7.0.2.250621
Silicon Dust HDHomerun HDHR3-US (dual channel ATSC 1.0)
There is one channel that I cannot seem to get on my HDHomeRun, that my TVs seem to have no problem with.
I updated NextPVR and reloaded HDHomeRun firmware, rescanned channels and still can't get one channel that my TVs (including a 15 year old TV can easily receive. It does not show up at all on channel scan.
The channel is "MATRIX Midwest" "MyN" Virtual: 32.1 Actual:24
My zipcode is 63122
I'm at a loss. Any suggestions or help appreciated.
Been running NextPVR on a Dell Optiplex 990 for a long time. It runs Windows 10 and cannot run 11. Moved to new computers for my wife and I on Windows 11, and now considering getting a mini computer for the next home theater box. When I say "home theatre", I mean watching OTA programs, streaming, and playing DVDs (library loans them for free). I do NOT mean gaming, have zero interest.
Any good discussion on here about the pros or cons, the specific configuration needed / desired? Or a good source for that info? My preliminary research indicates that a very basic mini PC can fill my needs.
I was considering switching my old Windows 10 computer to some form of Linux. I have since decided to not do that, and instead I'm probably moving to a mini-PC with Windows 11 on it. Still researching that.
In advance of doing that, I'm wondering if there is a tutorial specifying the EXACT steps to move a NextPVR installation from one Windows box to another, so that everyone continues to work in the same way. To be clear, I'm looking for more than "copy the ____". For example, in the past when I had an issue, I might have been told to copy the XXX.XXX file. I did that, and no change. Then I was asked "did you also copy it to this subdirectory"? Answer - no, because I didn't know to do that.
I did this many years ago when I setup a NextPVR box at a summer cottage, but that was many years ago and many versions ago.
I know I will need to setup my HD HomeRun devics on the new computer (I have 4, using 2 of them on my current setup, so I'm probably going to use the 2 new ones on the new computer and then swap the entire installation out). I did recently have an issue where Martin helped with my discovery of NextPVR looking for a no longer in place HD HomeRun box, so I'm assuming that will be easy to figure out now.
So, is there a step by step process to move NextPVR from one Windows computer to another? Specifically, moving the programs setup to record, and the existing recordings, top the list, but having the same features and defaults selected would also be important. I have not yet upgraded to the latest version, but probably would do that in the process.
It would be great to have some control over when the OSD is displayed. The current implementation shows the OSD when watching recordings or live TV in the following cases:
1. When video playback is paused.
2. On resume from pause.
3. When selecting fast forward or back.
4. When selecting the Info button on a remote, as bound with Ctrl-B.
There are five parameters within the existing config.xml which appear to relate to the OSD but only one of them has any noticeable effect, so maybe they are deprecated.
I would suggest having options to control the four points as above by defining a duration in milliseconds of how long to display the OSD with zero being do not show.
It would be nice if the Export Recordings used an env variable for the recordings directory / filename path rather than absolute file path. It's not something people use regularly and a lot of users probably never export/import recordings. It would save editing the xml file if the recordings dir is different.
