  Sleep>Record>Sleep Mode?
Posted by: JWA - 2014-12-28, 12:14 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Am I understanding Npvr's function correctly in that unlike WMC it won't allow my PC to return to sleep mode once its been awakened to record something? It seems I need to allow Win Power Management to do that for me?

My end goal is minimizing the "on time" the recording computer runs in theory to extend its life. BTW this is a stand alone machine, not part of a network etc.

  Ok, this is weird

Not super important, but after finally going from GB-PVR to NPVR I wanted to update my sig-line on the forum and for some reason I don't seem to be able to. Maybe its a browser issue. I am using chrome.

Scheduled Recordings gone after each EPG Update
Posted by: hvannieu - 2014-12-27, 10:40 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

Hi Guys,

After each automatic or manual EPG update all my scheduled Recordings are gone.

See attached the log files.

Next-PVR Version: 3.3.8
EPG Download tool: WebGrab Plus (3-party tool for downloading channel information)
EPG Source: XMLTV -> xmltv.xml (setting in Next-PVR)

Hopefully someone can help me.

Best regard, Hugo

  Missing Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder?
Posted by: JWA - 2014-12-27, 04:32 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

Running Npvr on a Win 8.1 machine---recording is perfect so far. Live TV however is missing the MS decoder although ArcSoft and MainConcept MPEG-2 decoders are present.

How do I add or find the MS decoder and add it?

TIA

SQL database locked (random, restart services normally fixes it)
Posted by: SFX Group - 2014-12-24, 09:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi

Current version installed it v3.3.8, have a client running (same version), i sometimes get the below message, the only fix is to restart the NPVR service (which can hang for a few minutes on restart)....

I also have some XBMC looking at this server as well...

Has this got anything to do with the client or XBMC's?

The server is XP 64bit (i have got to upgrade the server, however no money at present).

Can this work on new Open Hour Chameleon
Posted by: dave.t - 2014-12-24, 08:37 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (8)

Hi Everyone and Merry Christmas
Just received an Open Hour Chameleon for Christmas and was wondering if you can run NPVR on it. There is the option of ndroid which I have not tried yet but have read in a few posts that it was possible to use telnet. Is it possible to run Npvr the same way we do on the earlier popcorn hours eg A100
Thanks
Dave

Need to replace a PVR-150, recommendations anyone?
Posted by: jim08127 - 2014-12-24, 03:55 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (10)

How are things in NextPVR world...

I am finally upgrading my system OS from winxp 32 bit to windows 7 64 bit and adding some RAM. That means I need to ditch the PVR-150 as I understand. If I am looking for something similar/better at similar price that I paid several years ago for the PVR-150 what capture devices should I be looking at? I took a peek at the WinTV 2255, seems like a definite option. It doesn't have that 64 bit RAM limiting issue correct? Any others you folks would recommend I look at?

  TV Listings 3.7.1 released
Posted by: alibert - 2014-12-24, 02:39 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (3)

Hi,

I've just uploaded version 3.7.1 of the TVListings plugin at the wiki.

Changelog:

Quote:- added workaround for a potential null reference in the default schedule popup
- added support for "@expanded" / "!@expanded" parameters for dropdown skin elements
- considering "cast_member" and "crew" fields when building the description string for epg events
- fixed an issue where the clicked location was not translated to the correct channel row when there are only few channels in a guide
- added support for choosing 'major.minor' channel numbers for custom guides
- using a channel's formatted number now for the '@number' skin attribute

Please note the following when upgrading:
  • This release requires NextPVR 3.3.8 and above[/url]
  • There's no need to overwrite an existing "TV Listings.db" database file during upgrade
  • There are only minor skin changes in this release (slightly adjusted position of the channel numbers in the channel header)

i wanted to see if I could connected it to my npvr. Under settings / devices is a selection for IPTV device.
