Web Client: Different Live playback mechanism?
Posted by: cncb - 2014-09-07, 03:01 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (3)

Playback of Live TV from X-Newa and the web client seems to be different. Does the web client not use path substitution so does not play back the file directly? The result is that Live TV playback from the web client is not clear (almost like it is not using the deinterlacing settings) and I cannot seem use the XBMC OSD to adjust any playback settings.

Problems Playing on PCH-A100 but OK on the PC
Posted by: jksmurf - 2014-09-06, 11:34 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (34)

Hi Martin,

I seem to have a new glitch on a what was a well-running machine.
I use my PCH almost exclusively and the PC only occasionally / testing.

Recently, while I can get the NPVR Interface on the PCH with no problem at all, if I go to play an existing file, or watch live tv, it plays a few seconds then jumps out. No such problem on the PC.

This then started happening on watching live tv as well.

Multiple restarts, whole PC, NPVR Services start and stop, PCH plug pulled and waited 10s to replug, router reboot, the whole 9 yards.

I am not much use at reading logs, but cannot see any obvious errors.
You will see I imported an mkv file of an identical name to the ts that failed, this is because I tried mkvgui to fix the ts; it worked and played OK.

Oddly the ts files played just fine using the native PCH interface - it just won't play in NPVR any more :confused:

Cheers
k.

  X-NEWA 2.4.2 Update Problems
Posted by: spider - 2014-09-06, 01:59 AM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (16)

I've had a working setup using NextPVR 3.2.9 and OpenElec on a RPi for the past several months. I had been using the X-NEWA plugin successfully to access to the guide data, play live TV, and play recordings. Yesterday, I was unable to play any live TV channels. I rebooted the computer, reset the RPi, and reset the NPVR database completely over the past day. This has had no effect. Now since I have cleared everything out, I cannot access the menu with TV Guide, Recordings, etc. on the left side of the screen in X-NEWA. It appears to be disabled. I have a second RPi setup similarly, and I am having the same results. The only way I can do anything is to run the web client at startup by changing the configuration option.

How do I go about figuring out what is wrong? I also tried updating to the latest development build of NEWA to see if that would fix the problem to no success.

AutoRemoveMissingRecordings=true only works with TV Guide enabled.
Posted by: gEd - 2014-09-04, 10:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi Sub

I use alibert's TV listings/recordings plugin and I note that his plugin doesn't obey AutoRemoveMissingRecordings=true.
It seems this only works when your TV Guide is enabled. Would it be possible for your purge code to run irrespective of whether the TV Guide is enabled or not?

Strange guide issue with NPVR 3.2.9 and scheduled direct
Posted by: ReplayHarry - 2014-09-04, 08:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I've done a search for related posts on this forum and haven't found any issue similar to what I am having. So am opening this new one.

I am running a Win 8.1 NUC i3 with NextPVR 3.2.9 and XBMC Gotham. I'm only going to discuss the issue I have with NPVR as XBMC just gets what NPVR sends it, but the symptom I discuss is the same in XBMC. I am using a HDHomerun (OTA) and a HDPrime(Comcast cable card).

I set my system up for the 1st time in January of this year, and it has been running very well with schedulesdirect for the guide data all this time. Then just a couple of days ago I tried to record something on AMCHD (comcast channel 798 where I live). It recorded the correct channel and at the correct time, but recorded a different show then I expected. So started checking into it. Basically I found that the guide info for this channel was wrong. The guide info on NPVR was showing the show as Eastern Time, while I am in Pacific time. So basically it was 3 hours behind. So my recording for 7:30am was actually a show that was not going to be on till 10:30am. All the data for this channel was behind like that. All other channels which I regularly watch were just fine. Sure, there could be an issue with another channel as I did not check everyone of them, but I know the ones I use almost daily are fine. So I am thinking schedules direct has a problem.

The first thing I did was manually reload the EPG data via npvr. Same result. Then I "emptied" the epg data. I verified I had no epg data for any channel. Then I went back in and manually loaded the epg data again from schedulesdirect. Here is the strange part. The epg data was loaded, but not for the channel I was having trouble with (AMCHD ch 798). Noticed a couple of others with no data as well, but they were on channels I never watch.

Contacted schedules direct and they were very helpful. In fact, I was surprised just how quickly they responded. They sent me a listing of what their "servers" had on file for AMCHD 798 and in fact everything was at the correct times for the west coast. So I checked my SD online channel listing and all was well, then I "resync'd" it as suggested and also did a "re-add all lineups". All done via their website. Then I did a manual reload of the channel guide in native NPVR. Same result. No data for AMCHD 798 or those other 2-3 channels.

I know the data from SD is good. While I did not mention this to them, I do have 2 ReplayTV DVRs which I have had for many years and still use. I have yet to get my wife to regularly use the new HTPC. They get their EPG updated via Wirns with schedulesdirect data. They have the right shows on at the right times. So the problem must be somewhere within NextPvr.

I guess the 1st question would be, where do I find a file on my HTPC that shows what data npvr is getting from scheduledirect? That seems to be the place to look 1st, but I have no idea what file to look in. Assuming the data is there, why isn't it loaded? And of course this eastern time vs pacific time is a strange thing indeed. I just want to get things "back to normal".

Any help would be greatly appreciated. As I said, this HTPC has been working well for months.

  enhancement Request: obey <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> setting
Posted by: gEd - 2014-09-03, 10:55 PM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (6)

Hi alibert

It would be good if TV listings/recordings behaved like Subs TV guide whereby if AutoRemoveMissingRecordings=true, upon startup, parse through the recordings table and remove any records from the table where the file no longer exists on disk.

I periodically mass-purge redundant (no longer wanted) recordings directly from windows explorer and would like to then see them disappear from TV Recordings.

Your plugins remain the family favourite here, so many thanks as always for your high quality code. (hence why you don't need to post very often!).

Can I have one computer that is a client for 2 computers each running NPVR?
Posted by: IanSpringfield - 2014-09-03, 10:39 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (38)

I've got 2 computers. Each computer is running NPVR and each NPVR is being fed with its own Directv box.

On a third computer I've got NPVR running as a client to 1 of those computers. Is it possible that this computer can be a client for both of those computers?

Not sure why I get this error when viewing the devices tab. Recording and live tv works just fine.
I did just do a virus update but honestly, I've not touched the devices tab in many months.
