  Video metadata location
Posted by: garp32 - 2014-12-02, 11:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Hi,

I use NextPvr on my local PC to watch movies from a fileserver on my home network.
I can't store metadata on the fileserver so I was wondering if there's any way to store metadata on the local PC
and have it display when I access a movie from the fileserver.

I'm guessing that NextPvr expects the metadata to be in the same folder as the actual movie file, but I'm not
certain of this.

Any comments/suggestions?

Thanks.

  Audio Skipping Issue Live TV
Posted by: jamhandman - 2014-12-02, 07:48 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (18)

I'll post logs when I get back home, but wanted to throw this out there...

When I tune to a few channels (Clear QAM) The channel comes up and the audio is there, but the audio track is skipping. If I do a short rewind, the audio skipping goes away and I can watch the channel. This is not an issue for main channels, like 4.1, but for the other sub channels, like 4.2/9.3 as example.

I also notice there is an audio/video sync issue on the same channels, where after a few minutes I have to skip back to resync the audio.

Thoughts? Thanks.

I'm using the AC3 Filter with the Microsoft DTV decoder.

I can try a different combination.

  NUC remote solutions
Posted by: SickBoy - 2014-12-02, 01:59 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I have one of these on the way: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...-_-Product

Question: I'm pretty unfamiliar with what IR remotes might be compatible... I've only ever used Snapstream Firefly remotes, which have a discrete USB receiver and some software to install/configure.

What would be the best plan/method for using a remote on this one? Would my TV remote work or do I need to find something else? I'm planning to (at least try) use KodiBuntu, so a Linux-friendly solution might work best.

  bluescreen during recording: npvr cannot play the file
Posted by: V_J - 2014-12-02, 12:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Hello,

I have a strange situation. My computer bluescreened during a recording (I'm running Windows 10 Technical Preview, and build 9879 has turned out to be more instable than the previous one, so I doubt the bluescreen is related to NPVR). After reboot, NVPR started with a new recording to continue the remainder of the program.

The first part is visible in the recordings-section, but NPVR cannot play back the file. The progress bar at the bottom has very large values both left and right, and the screen stays black on playback (progress indicator does not seem to move, counters stay constant). Interestingly, I can play the file in other software.

So for sure it is not a big deal, but I wonder if it is possible to play it in NPVR...

  Merge HDHRPrime & HDHR tuner channels?
Posted by: snagglewest - 2014-12-02, 12:30 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

So I picked up a HDHomeRunPrime cable card tuner to go along with my regular HDHR tuner (non-cablecard). After a fiasco with Cox cable I managed to get the cablecard working and the channels scanned into NPVR. The question now, is it possible to combine the two overlapping channel lists? The HDHR only has 8 QAM channels mapped, the prime has 60 channels, but the 8 are duplicates. Is there a way to map them so the next available tuner picks up the recording or am I stuck with two separate channel lists that I have to pick from when selecting to record?

  New External App: Netflix Browser
Posted by: dhgb256 - 2014-12-01, 01:35 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (6)

So my other program, Netflix Viewer is caput, now that Netflix has retired their API. However, while trying to optimize my eventghost codes to work with Netflix through the web, I ultimately decided that a custom browser would work better. If anyone is interested, I designed a webbrowser to work optimally (or as close as I could muster) with Netflix. Please take a look and let me know if you have any suggestions for improving the program. Current features:

Ctrl - O --> This opens an options menu, so you can specify default sort criteria for the webpages; which genres you want to auto-scroll through; and default zoom level for the webpage.
Ctrl - P --> Move cursor to profile change location on screen
Ctrl - S --> Move cursor to search box location on screen
Arrows --> On home page left and right arrows move to scroll arrow locations, making it easier to navigate through the movies. On genre pages, left and right move the mouse left and right across the screen.
Ctrl - Left/Right --> RW/FF on movie screen, advance to next genre in scroll list on other screens.
Up/Down PgUp/PgDn --> Scroll window
Alt-F4 --> Close Program
Esc --> Return to "Home"
Enter --> Left mouse click

[Version Info]
1.0.0.2 - Added support for OK button to be left mouse click.
1.1 - Added support, so monitor doesn't shut off during watching.

  Is a channel list required for LiveTV?
Posted by: seaken64 - 2014-12-01, 01:24 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (15)

Hello,

I'm new to nPVR and this forum. I've read hundreds of pages today in an effort to learn. I'll continue to read but I have a quick question about channels and the HD-PVR. If anyone can shed some light on this I would appreciate it.

nPVR version 3.3.8
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Time Warner Cable Digital TV Set Top Box
Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212 Component & SPDIF
WinTV v7.2.32311 (CD 3.9c) (working for Live TV viewing)

Does the LiveTV function of nPVR REQUIRE an EPG and channel list? I don't know how to "scan" for channels or get EPG data for the HD-PVR. There is no actual tuner, it is only a capture device. I have set up one "channel" called "Component" on channel number 3. LiveTV does not show anything (black screen on "Component" channel). But, if I start a recording from the guide on that same channel and then "play" the recording I can simulate watching LiveTV, just slightly delayed. Why does the recording of "channel 3" work but viewing in LiveTV does not? I guess I don't understand what the LiveTV function is looking for that the Recording function is not. Could it be a channel list/guide? Confused.

Thank you,
Sean
