I have two Hauppauge HVR-2250 cards, for a total of four tuners. One of the tuners already failed a year or so back, but the other tuner on the card was still working. Now it's looking like I have another tuner failing (I think on the other card, naturally).
Before I order new HVR-2250 tuner cards, I'm curious if there are any better QAM/ATSC tuners on the market now? I've been happy with the HVR-2250's, but they've only lasted about three years. They've also been somewhat marginal tuners (a lot more signal errors than I see on my TV's).
I would prefer internal, but external is OK if the tuners are better quality.
Has to work with NPVR, of course.
I don't have a cable card, just picking up the free QAM stations.
What say you? Another HVR-2250, or something else?
Hi
I've been getting this error when I stop a file playing [or stop Live TV] though not every time. See attached error message.
Also I get a .Net framework error intermittently - I'll have to post that later,
Perhaps this doesn't matter too much if the new release of NPVR is imminent? [Also 8.1 final soon]
Please note I had no errors before installing 8.1 preview [I was using 8.0 before and upgraded rather than a fresh install and the errors started straight away in 8.1]
I installed the software and configured the client. I also added the win 7 codec pack and when I start live tv I receive and error.
Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Tcp channel protocol violation expecting preamble.
Tonight, at 7:59PM, when NextPVR was poised to record 4 new shows, NRecord.exe crashed, and I missed all of it.
It actually crashed 4 days ago too, at the same time, I see now.
It made crash data, with several files.
What can I provide to help figure out what is wrong?
This could be tied to all of the work I did earlier, debugging the incomplete program recordings I had on my HDHomeRun. I may have corrupted something in the database, after I deleted the channel and re-scanned. But I can't tell.
When I was doing my channel mapping I accidently mapped my channel wrongs. I went back in to correct the issue but it is still wrong in the tv guide. Any way to correct this? Makes it hard to record shows that way.
sorry if this is posted elsewhere, I did search.
is there a way to turn off the dimmed image when you pause our skip during video playback? I case it is unintentional, I get a few seconds of dimmed video after unpausing or skipping in the playback, which means I need to skip back so the unwatchable video is prior to where I want to be at, which kinda defeats the purpose of skipping.
New user of Next PVR, downloaded the TV Listing plug-in and every time I try clicking on it within the application I keep getting the following error:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
The type initializer for 'TVListing.Configuration.Config' threw an exception."
I am using Next PVR 2.6.2 on Windows 8. Thanks for any help.
This probably isn't an issue with most people with cablecards, but here in Canada we don't have access to those, and this issue is big for me now that I've lost the last of my clear qam network channels.
A few shows are now popping on as 61 or 121 minute shows, such The Voice tonight, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD tomorrow and a few more. With this extra one minute, it is causing me issues with my colossus card because it will not record a show that starts on the hour (or the 61/121 minute show, depending on priority I guess.) Tonight is the first time I noticed this issue, so I set a manual recording, but that's a bit of a pain for long-term. I thought I remember there being negative post-recording times allowed on the web interface, but that's also a pain to go to the computer as the mobile newa doesn't give me this option. Are there any other ways to handle this?
That being said, with The Voice not set to record tonight due to the overlap, I would have thought that would show up in conflicts, but I think that isn't active if I remember correctly. Any chance that will be up and running on the next / future release?
Also, is the priority set in the database where I could renumber those for priority?
This is not something I want to happen but something my wife has been complaining about for some time but I have not been able to duplicate. Turns out that we use the box differently, I've always selected the recording pressed okay and then watch. She has always pressed play, but it turns out if you press it twice quickly it runs the recording twice (or more times) over the top of each other with only one showing. When you hit stop the top one closes and the others go on in the background......
At this point the only thing to do is Alt-f4 the program and start all over again.
Any ideas? Is this just my setup or do they all do it? I'm using a genuine MS remote.....
