There is a page at /stream&f=filename that works with short filenames for many media types.

No Channels Detected (HDHomerun, Win XP x64)
Posted by: Stereodude - 2013-07-29, 02:41 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I've used GB-PVR for many years, but I tried to setup nPVR today. I was not able to get nPVR to detect any channels. The system runs Windows XP x64 & the Windows Firewall is disabled.

It detects my HDHomerun devices:

I tried a scan of the HDHR device and the ATSC device but both had an empty channel list. The HDHomerun software finds plenty of channels. GB-PVR works with the HDHomerun devices as well.

I've attached a log that includes the scan of the HDHR and ATSC device.

a plug in to show how many hours remain on your hard drive(s)
Posted by: blegdon - 2013-07-29, 01:56 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

If I had the skill, i would develop it and share it with the community, but alas I don't.
It would be nice if somewhere on one of the menu screens it would say something like....

20 Hrs SD, 5 Hrs HD Remain on drive C:
100 Hrs SD, 45 Hrs HD Remain on drive D:
Alert...drive C:\ below low threshold

or something like that...

Thanks!

MVP looping while entering emulation mode
Posted by: dinki - 2013-07-28, 07:43 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (11)

Hey guys. Trying to get my MVP running with NPVR. I've managed to edit my config.xml file to include the MAC address for the MVP. I also loaded the default dongle.bin and set it to load my NPVR server. I then downloaded the dongle on the wikki, renamed it to dongle.bin and am able to load into the NPVR version of the GUI on the MVP.

Unfortunately I'm in some sort of a loop when entering emulation mode. It shows that it is loading various things and then it goes back to 'Connecting to [my ip]' then proceeds to load the same files again. It keeps doing this over and over again. I'm using a wired connection to the MVP.

Any ideas on what I could look at to figure out what's going?

*EDIT* Found my logs. Can someone tell me what's wrong?

No channels being detected on initial setup
Posted by: Ackis - 2013-07-28, 06:23 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I have what I think is a slightly odd combination for my tv needs.

First, I'm Canadian so my options on what to do are limited. Sad

I have a DIAMOND ATI Theater™ HD 750 USB TV Tuner installed on my main PC (wanted to convert old VHS videos to digital format so I can toss them), as well as the HDHomeRun on my network connected to an antenna.

The USB stick has a digital and analog tuner, so I have a cable line running into it. My Media Centre was able to detect all three tuners, but I don't know how to switch the input between them at all.

What was recommended to my on another site was to use this software for recording (VHS tapes) and for one set of the tuners and WMC for the other tuner. I'm personally not a fan of WMC so I look forward to jumping ship so to speak.

Anyways, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to getting tv on my PC... sometimes "It Just Works" and sometimes it doesn't.

The device listing on the software is:

When I run scans on all of them, I don't find any channels. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, is anyone able to provide me some pointers?

Thank you!

  AutoMute commercials during live TV
Posted by: OTAjunkie - 2013-07-28, 04:15 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

This is more likely a Comskip wish but still I can dream in colour can't I?

Something like a key command toggle to invoke a live instance of Comskip that lets NPVR know when to cut/lower the volume when there are commercials and return to regular volume when the block is done.

Even if there was a 10 second delay of the live show due to processing it would still be gold.

  Automatic EPG updates not working
Posted by: boringgit - 2013-07-27, 03:21 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (27)

Hi All,

I recently rebuilt my NPVR machine onto a Win2008r2 box - thanks to those who helped me get over a few hurdles to get that working! But I have the same problem I was getting on my old install - namely automatic EPG updates dont seem to work. When I manually update it works like a dream, but not automatically.

I'm guessing some logs will be of use, but dont want to spam with all of them - looks to me like the only 2 needed are ndigitalhost-## and npvr. Would I be correct in that assumption? (I have attached nrecord as well just because it also seems to be updated recently - although I would think that would be when a recording took place!)

Cheers in advance!

Rob.

[US][DVB-T][2011] UN55D6400 (No DVD SmartHub) [NOT SUPPORTED]
Posted by: doddger - 2013-07-25, 11:22 PM - Forum: NextPVR for Samsung - Replies (21)

7-25-2013 620pm Houston time.
Reven

I tested for about two hours last night and another 4 hours today with v0.026 and had the exact same results that johnsonx42 described including a TV picture just like the picture he posted. After installing, I did have to restart the TV to make the app visible. I restarted the TV each time I tried something new to "clear the cache". Also, a couple of times I didn't "log in" and didn't put in an IP Address then starting the app received the same results (that is same result whether I logged in and input and IP Address or not). After spending a couple of hours messing with everything....setup of the TV, setting of the SmartHub, a BIG item is glaring right at me:

THERE IS NO PLACE TO ENTER A PORT#, just the IP address and then a button to sync. Therefore when syncing would get a network error message about poor communications. Just to check I played with other apps and the TV was clearly well connected to the network.

I also would periodically log in to NEWA with my web browser on the computer that hosts NextPVR to (in my case) 127.0.0.1:8866 to make sure that the PVR end of it was still active and working. Bear in mind also, as soon as your app starts, it goes directly to that gray screen (as pictured on johnsonx42's picture on his thread). There's no chance to choose any options of menus or anything. Just the date and time in the top right corner. I am able to exit the gray screen with two remote control buttons: The "SOCIAL" button and the

What I am thinking is that the app is never loading the NPVR service and just sits there displaying, I assume your HTML generated clock and date. So what I am looking at doing since there is no place to input a port#: to edit the HOST file in the c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host file to redirec xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx local ip to one with a port...Example: In the HOST files put something like:

127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1:8866
or
192.168.0.12 192.168.0.12:8866
or
127.0.0.1 localhosts:8866

I don't know enough about the HOSTS file syntax and how Microsoft Defender reacts to changing the contents of this file without educating myself for a few hours first. Since I don't have a menu input box for the PORT (only for he IP and to SYNC) when I sign into SmartTV, does anyone know how to tell the networking part of Windows 8 how to REDIRECT my 127.0.0.1 to something else like 127.0.0.1:8866? Have I got something here or am I heading down the wrong track?

Anyhow, hope this info does something for you. Meanwhile I will be reading the forum and trying out the latest versions as you post them. And will be keeping an eye out for what you and johnsonx42 come up with.

I am going to go read all the posts that have accumulated in the last few hours and will get the latest download if there is one, for about the next couple of hours.
