NextPVR + XBMC + USB DigitalNow Dabby
Posted by: tuckerman - 2013-04-30, 11:16 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - No Replies

Hello, anyone using the USB DigitalNow Dabby ? It seems for Aus spec stuff the DigitalNow Tiny Twin comes highly recommended. I will probably get one of these as well so can record and watch and from multiple extenders but I like the idea of having FM radio to listen to Triple J and figured this the Dabby plus the Tinytwin + NextPVR will be a good combo ?

Just wanted to see if anyone had it working or at least used the USB Dabby with NextPVR ?

Thanks

Tom Smile

Windows 8 (64 bit) Ports do not open
Posted by: brianf21 - 2013-04-30, 08:01 PM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (11)

When I start the service the ports never show under netstat. Windows 8 is a fresh install. Do I need to install .NET first?

  nDroid (TE) v2.0.1 update
Posted by: bgowland - 2013-04-30, 04:28 AM - Forum: nDroid - No Replies

I've uploaded v2.0.1 to Google Play.

Changes as follows...

  • Fixed problem with incorrect names of days in Seven Day guide view
  • Improved navigation
  • Removed drop-down menu from TV Guide option (top-left of screen)
  • Added Now/Next and All Timeslots TV Guide views. These can be selected with the top-left tabs or by swiping left/ right.
  • Removed header bars from Recordings in favour of just having the top-left tabs to indicate which view is currently showing.
  • Currently locked into landscape mode (sorry Nistrod). This is temporary to avoid complications with changing orientation - I'll allow portrait mode in a future release.
  • Seven Day guide view automatically shows the description in bottom-right pane when the channel is selected.
  • Added extra information to the "first run" download view when adding data to the database.

It's still not functional for selecting TV Guide entries, scheduling recordings, watching existing recordings etc. but it's getting close.

  DVB-T Interference tolerant Pending Recording
Posted by: Shepters - 2013-04-29, 04:37 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Occasionally we get Tram interference. If this occurs during the EPG update (daily), the EPG shows "no show details" whereas the day before the EPG was full and a pending recording was created (All Episodes, All Channels mode). If the pending recording time slot in the EPG is showing "no show detail" after the EPG update, the pending recording is deleted.
Normally this isn't a problem but if it happens on the day before the pending recording, the program is not recorded.
Would it be better to only remove pending recordings if the show details in the EPG time slot are different but not "no show data"? This is tolerant because it assumes that even though the pending recording is currently not in the EPG, it was and will be again, therefore is valid until proven otherwise.

NPVR Channel scan finds no channels
Posted by: drlava - 2013-04-29, 02:12 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

Hi everyone, after a 2 year Hiatus, I'm giving NPVR another go. Setup details:

WinXP HTPC
No Firewalls
Silicondust HD Homerun dual tuner (no cablecard)
Over-The-Air Antenna

I've updated the silicondust drivers to the latest, and it performed a channel scan and displays TV perfectly.

NPVR now lists extra tuners in the device list. It contains the usual 4 'devices' : 2 ATSC and 2 QAM type.. Now there are two more, with a type of HDHR, which is strange because all of them are HDHR brand.

Anyways, I tried performing a channel scan on both the ATSC type and the HDHR type. The ATSC type channel scan flies through channels once it gets started, as if it's not even looking. the HDHR type is clearly finding channels because the tuning metrics are indicating found channels and type 8vsb, etc, but here again none end up in the list. I've attached the log.

Both "Other ATSC/QAM" and "NPextVR" were tried from the HDHomerun Setup under 'Application" with the same result..

On a side note, GBPVR still scans and finds channels and subchannels fine.

XBMC 12.1 playing recording whilst still recording stops
Posted by: smacrae - 2013-04-29, 01:37 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (16)

Sorry for he odd title...

My issue is when I start playing a file that is being recorded (from the Recordings directory) it will only see a snapshot when it starts of where it is up to and then only play the segment that was visible when it started to play the currently recording show.

I can play Live TV and anything that has been recorded without any issues. I was having this problem on 2.5.9R2 so just tried to upgrade to 2.6.2 with no change. I have also tried XBMC 12, 12.1, 12.2pre and 13 Alpha 3, all the same result...

Any ideas what I can do to allow playing of a currently recording show? I often like to start watching a program that is half way through to skip the adverts....

  Channel Issue
Posted by: proximix - 2013-04-28, 07:30 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

So I know this has been asked a few times as I have been scouring the forums for a few hours now, but I can't seem to get my channels into NextPVR. It is only showing I have 27 channels, when in fact there are 100+.

My setup:
Windows 8
Firewall exceptions have been added (even tried turning it off).
Homerun Prime -> Tried using Next PVR or Other ASTC/QAM as main application
Prime finds my channels fine.

I have attached my log. I have tried re-installing both HD software + NPVR and still nothing.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi there,

NDroid is working great with recorded TV (note I've loaded vlc on my nexus) but live TV just gives me a black screen. Does anyone have any idea what the issue here may be?

Trevor
