i'm getting my npvr all set up, i got newa running and i can stream my recordings, but i don't see any options for streaming a live feed. am i missing something here?
I have Ceton InfiniTV4 with Comcast CableCard. The tuner works fine in WMC, I have tested it in SageDCT and it also works fine and creates a long, skip free video file. When trying to use LiveTV with NextPVT the TV freezes after about 1-2 seconds. I tried all of the renderers:
EVR, VMR9, VMR9FSE, etc (even tried MadVR). It always freeze after 1-2 seconds. I have the decoders set to the Msft decoders and defaults, I've read LAV and LAV CUVID have issues. Anyways, I have posted my log and I'm hoping for some help with this issue.
I encountered a display bug when using "Cumulative Update - Jan 12, 2013 - NPVR 2.5.9"
My recurring recordings are all manual recordings, so normally under the Recurring Recordings tab, it will display the time and type of recording (ie Weekly or Weekdays, etc).
But after I used the patch, I see the display as "All Episodes". This is probably a bug.
I just installed NextPVR 2.5.9 for XBMC to replace MediaPortal which seems to have codec issues with my HDMI audio on this Win7 32bit Media PC.
Install NextPVR. Done.
Right-Click for Settings to set up my tuner.
NextPVR sees them! Check.
Go into Device Setup and start Scan Channels
waiting...
waiting....
waiting......
waiting.......
It get through the whole spectrum and finds nothing.
What is going on here? Has anyone else got this to work with HDHomeRun and Over The Air (OTA) Broadcasts?
I did a search for the obvious: HDHomeRun - but there was not a single thread returned. No one uses this?
Oh, and before I forget: I hate that freakin' CAPTCHA that I have to fill out to become a member. I had to fill it out 4 times, looking at crap I couldn't tell what was what, feeling like some sort of dumb gorilla. So easy a caveman can do it? I don't think so!
I have a Hauppauge WinTV 950Q USB Tv Tuner connected to an ATSC Antenna. Using WinTV, I can pickup about 16 channels. I installed NextPVR and all the required prerequisites posted online. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. Intel Dual-Core with 4GB RAM.
I launched NextPVR... all channels WinTV found so did NextPVR. However, when I double-click on LiveTV, it shows "Sorry, no tuner available." Also happened when I tried to record a show.
In the Devices option, it shows the card mentioned above as "Present" and "Enabled" and 22 channels.
Windows Firewall also turned off (someone suggested this in another post.
Would love to get this working, so I can add XBMC and get it all working in one nice client (and finally cancel my cable bill).
Maybe I have conflicting software? I have no idea... please assist.
I'v found that I need to kill and restart Ntray every time my laptop wakes up from sleep, and now that got me wondering; does Nrecord actually have a function on a client or could it simply be disabled?
NEWA was working but after not using it for a while it's gone bad.
I was able to stream video to a WAN PC but now I cannot.
I can stream music and I can "play" a video for about 5 secs.
Once set up NPVR more or less completely according to your needs, how could I make a back up of all your own settings, plug ins (their settings) etc. to use them e.g. on another system or when you have to re-set up Windows?
I have just received a Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650. I was able to get it all set up in WMC, it works fine there. I was able to get my device to show up in NPVR, and I was able to scan in the channels. However, when I switch to Live TV, all i get is a black screen. I can change channels, but nothing but a black screen. I have installed the latest patches and saf 6.0. I have a feeling it is a decoder problem, but I have tried just about every combination. I currently have the video codecs set to Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder and LAV Decoder for the audio codecs.
Any help would be appreciated. I look forward to having this running on xbmc.
Could you help me decide which HD TV card to get. I think dual tunner will be enough because all the HD channels are on the same MUX but I'm concerned about the reported problems with Blackgold cards, are TBS a decent alternative?
I understand TBS have a loop through, is this passive, so it will still work if the PC is turned off?
Stock for both blackgold and TBS seems very thin on the ground, is there a reason for this, like new models coming out soon and I should wait before buying anything?
It will be replacing a Compro E900F which has been solid, will be sad to see that go but I crave HD.
