Auto skipping commercials / playback recordings
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2012-10-20, 11:08 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

I'v noticed that when playing back recordings XBMC does not skip commercials by itself even thou the .edl file exists. Is it not supported, is it the addon or XBMC that does not support it or is there a setting in XBMS I have to turn?

  XBMC addon and ports
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2012-10-20, 08:13 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (12)

Is the XBMC addon for npvr using the usual server port or the NEWA port? Or both? I can run XBMC with the npvr server on the same computer but had no luck so far if the server is on another computer in the local network.

  Modifying Recurring Recordings
Posted by: toricred - 2012-10-20, 07:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (23)

How do you modify a recurring recording to change which of your recording directories is used? I have two recording drives and I want to split the load.

No channels found on device scan
Posted by: GlenH - 2012-10-20, 06:02 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (31)

HDHomerun tuners. I only have US ATSC available so only have the ATSC tuners enabled in the device list.
Everything works in HDHR.
I can use NPVR because channels from previous versions are still there.
However, I tried a new device scan because the devices show 1 no-longer-available channel and lacks 4 newer ones that I know about. I was trying to get NPVR channel listing to match HDHR configuration listing.
I've checked for firewall blocking. None found.
No error messages found.

Any ideas for anything else to check?

  Search EPG always fails?
Posted by: cncb - 2012-10-20, 02:11 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

It's possible I'm not using it correctly but the "Search" function always comes up empty for me. I'm not sure why you have to specify start and end times and dates but it regardless of what I put in there it never seems to find anything?

2.5.9 Unable to set recording with spare tuner
Posted by: Nistrod - 2012-10-20, 05:35 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I have 4 tuners, but when I tried to schedule a recording, it said none were available, when only three frequencies were being recorded.
In the attached screen dump, the second Star Trek is on the same channel as the first, just following on.
I have attached NPVR.log.

Any ideas?

  Linux noob
Posted by: bassic - 2012-10-20, 03:14 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (3)

Stoopid noob linux question - The 'getting started' sticky says step one install npvr, step 2 install the addon. There's a linux version of the addon but I thought npvr was windows only?

I'd like to give the new Openelec xbmc release a spin with npvr as the backend but obviously I'm missing some really basic info. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Cheers.

  New skin
Posted by: flo87 - 2012-10-19, 10:58 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (8)

Hi all

Please find in attachment a new skin that is an adaptation of the Mediaportal's Maya skins (all credits of the art work to http://www.team-mediaportal.com/extensio.../maya-skin / http://code.google.com/p/mamp2/people/list)

This skin is still under development but is almost complete, of course there is many glitches because I've not been able to cover all use cases of the applications. I will be very please to get feedback.

Some comments:
- The listview in Picture-Photos-Music is the prefered view.
- No plugins have been skinned yet.

(download below the first 4 screenshots)

Jumping into X-Newa directly at XBMC startup..
Posted by: osx-addict - 2012-10-19, 02:12 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (11)

So, I really like XBMC (I moved back to Eden last night from the Frodo series -- too glitchy for now).. Anyway, I installed X-Newa without issue but it took a while to find it as it was not where I was expecting -- I expected something like it being under LiveTV or similar but it was hiding under Programs->Add-ons if I recall..

Is there a way to have XBMC jump right into it at startup (and then of course allow navigation out of it in the off chance someone wants to use other areas of XBMC)? I'm going to predict that IR is going to play a role here with a macro or something.. Is there a way to automagically do it one way or another..

IMHO (don't take this the wrong way), I think it's currently buried too deep in menus for the rest of the family to find -- it'd be nice if it was right up front with the rest of the video, music, etc ..

  youtube leanback - youtube TV
Posted by: jam_zhou - 2012-10-19, 01:40 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Hey guys,

if you've been using youtube xl you might have noticed that it's changed. For me it's changed to the point where it was broken. After I sign in the whole interface is changed and broken. Anyway so I started looking into Youtube Leanback which has now changed to Youtube TV and I have to say it looks pretty snazzy. It's a whole 10 ft interface using your remote control. For the bling factor it looks good, but I find it not as simple and easy to use as XL. Anyway, thought I'd let people know as it's a decent improvement in many ways.

I think the "coolest" thing is that it can be controlled by your smartphone as well since it can do internet pairing. So you can queue it through smartphone and send it to your TV. I don't have a smartphone so someone else can figure that part out.
